My 2 and 1/2 year old daughter has been cracking me up lately with some of her out of blue comments. Last night when I tried to get her to go to bed, she looked at me and said "Mommy you know sleeping is not my favorite thing to do, only biking is".

I was laughing so hard I was nearly in tears. She was soooo serious. The funny part is, I have no idea how she came up with biking. We haven't even went on any bike rides since summer and even then it wasn't often.

Here a few of her other comments that cracked me up:

"I love you more than chocolate milk and I reeeeally love chocolate milk"

"If we could eat stars and moons what do you think they would taste like? I hope not bologna sandwiches"

And my personal favorite that is wise beyond her years:

"I need to call the doctor and ask her to make your belly big again so I can get back in there because I was happy in your belly, wasn't I? I like to laugh in there"

What are some silly things your little ones have said?

This is my all-time favorite discussion.  I just love little kids and what they say.

Our youngest son was really visual.  He used to tell us that he had troubles and when asked what kind of troubles, he would tell us what color they were.  Purple troubles apparently were the worst. Our oldest son was really physical, so when he tattled that his sister hit him, he would also show us by hitting himself; or if he fell down, he would tell us that he fell accompanied with throwing himself on the floor in demonstration. Like all parents do, we would ask what the (fill in the blank) animal said.  When asked what the cow said, he always said, "Honk Honk."  We were mystified by this response until one day he put his hands on the top of his head and mimicked squeezing imaginary horns.... Definitely marched to the beat of a different drummer.....

Oh my.....each of these are just too precious!!!!

One of my all time favorites came from my daughter who was 3 at the time.   She and I (at stay at home Mom) were floating around in my Dad's pool one lazy summer day and I asked her what she'd like to be when she grew up, to which she replied..."I want to be nothing just like you!"

Oh, so sweet lol

I hope she got her wish!  Staying at home with our little ones was my great joy.

It was my greatest joy too Bonnie...and if she ever gets married and hopefully have babies, she, too, will get to stay home.

I love these!

My grandson was being put to bed by his mother last month. She told him they could play more tomorrow. He said, "No, Mama, tomorrow I go college and get a real life!" He's 3.

I love listening to Natalie "read" her books and use hilarious sentences and story lines.  Combining Bible stories with Disney and Thomas the Tank or whatever.  And using phrases like "... she muttered quietly..." as she reads what people 'said.'

Thanks for the laughs - I can't remember a single funny thing my children said when they were little, but I sure had fun reading yours.

One I will always remember is when we were out in the country caring for a friend's house and her goats and horses.  We went into town one day and did some shopping and Kristoff asked for a candy bar.  I got it and told him he could have it for dessert.  He ate a little bit of his lunch and then asked for the candy bar.  I told him no that it was for dessert and he had to eat his lunch first.  He looked at me and said with a hateful voice, "You are despicable."  He was only four years old so I said "I suppose you know what that means?" And he replied, "Yes, it means that I don't like what you are telling me very much."

Later realized that he was quoting Daffy Duck.

How sweet is that!  I love how they are so serious when they say these things and have no clue how cute or funny it is!

Tonight I asked Silverlyn if she wanted a drink and she said "I might have to poop your majesty before drinks are in our plans. I will let you know, alright?".  I have no idea how I got called Majesty out of that, but I'll take it.
