Hi there,

Bentley is almost two and we've had him since he was a baby. He hasn't used the bathroom in the house since the first month we brought him home. We never taught him to ring a bell or anything like that. I work for home, so we pretty much took him for walks every 4-5 hours 3-4 times a day.

This week has been a different story.

He peed on his bed earlier this week. We thought maybe it was because he played hard and drank alot of water and couldn't hold it until his next walk. We didn't catch him, so we didn't reprimand him.

Yesterday, he played hard again, drank alot, but we made sure to walk him a couple of hours after to let him pee. Last night, he peed in the living room. We caught him mid-stream, gave him a firm no, and brought him outside.

About an hour ago, he took a massive poop in the living room. The largest and smelliest I think I've ever seen from him. It was a little runny.

Just now, he vomited a pool of yellow bile. His belly contracted several times before it came out and not I can his belly gurgling.

This was alot to handle in one week when we haven't had this in almost two years. It's obvious something is not right, but any ideas? I was going to post on here a couple of days ago when he peed in the house, but now I'm going to bring him to the vet. Just curious to see if anyone has experienced it or if it sounds familiar.

Thanks for the feedback!

My Golden experienced several of these symptoms when she was about 2 (I think she was 2. It was a really long time ago though). She actually had a bladder stone and had to have surgery but then all was well and she's an old lady now but has been healthy as a horse since the surgery.

Good luck! I hope everything goes well.  Keep us posted!

I would get Bentley to the vet as soon as possible.

Ditto this.

When a dog potties on your bed the are telling you something is wrong ..that is not normal and can be very serious ...I would bring him ASAP to vet.....peeing on the bed is as good as they actually saying.......help I am sick

Please update us!!! I am worried!

Please let us know what the Vet says...I think that's a very wise decision.

I agree with everyone, and go to the vet..please keep us posted, and good luck!

I agree with everyne as well. He needs to go to the vet...

Definitely agree with the vet advice, and it could be any number of things. Try to grab a stool sample from him and bring it with you to the vet.

I keep checking for update and hoping all is okay!!

I hope he is okay.  Waiting for the update from your vet visit.

Oh no I hope Bentley is ok.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your concerns about Bentley.  He went to the vet this morning and they did a fecal exam.  They found bacteria in his stool, but are not sure what it is.  He did get some FreshPet topper earlier this week that we previously froze and she said that may have contracted bacteria after unfreezing it.

They gave him an antibiotic for his diarrhea and gave him a shot of fluids to help with the dehydration from the diarrhea.  He's on a diet of chicken and rice for the next few days.  We'll monitor his stools and if his condition doesn't improve, we'll bring him in for blood work.

He is full of energy and drinking and eating like a hungry puppy, so we're happy about that..

Thank you again!!
