Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I'm not sure if I should be putting this in a specific group? I read a lot of discussions on here, but don't say a lot.

My Pete has started to drool terribly when he is around other dogs, any dogs, big or small, puppies or adults, boys and girls, its really bad. The drool pours out of his mouth, when I take him to my folks to visit, they have a labradoodle that Pete loves to play with, or when a dog comes here to visit. Pete walks around with drool running out of his mouth like a faucet. Is there anything I can do?

JD does not have this problem, but one thing I have done is take him for rides in the car several times a week where we never get out of the car. Gas station, drive-thru pharmacy, drive-thru bank, drive-thru fast food places, or just drives, ten minutes or so. He sees that car rides are just that, rides in the car, and nothing happens. That might help.

I am definitely going to try short trips for awhile and let her get more acquainted with the rides.  Thanks Karen.

Karen I would have bet a million. Dollars that you would never have eaten at a fast food restaurant!!!!!!

LOL, you can get some decent stuff at some of them.

Lol I had to read that twice .....I know McDonald's has apples and Chic Fil A has healthier stuff....

No Chik Fil A here, as if I would patronize them anyway, lol. Not a big MacDonald's fan, either. I like Panda Express best.

Never heard of Panda Express! I am hoping to come to Il this summer to my breeders doodle romp and to see my friends out that way. I will have to go there .

I am currently trying to digest Sonic which is why I am up so late!!! Yuck! Impulse eating always gets me!

Well, I wouldn't make a special trip, lol. It's just that if you have to get food without getting out of your car, that's my favorite. If you can get out of your car and walk into a place, I wouldn't recommend any fast food drive-thru place, lol.

My Sophie is the same way when around a lot of other dogs.  I actually would carry a shammy if I knew we were going to be around a lot of dogs.  She seems to maybe be out growing it a little bit but not completely.

Sheri, I was hoping you would chime in here. I almost mentioned the horrible time you had with her when we met at the dog park.  Poor girl was driving you crazy.  But I thought you would see this.

She was the first dog that came to my mind.

oh, I hope Pete out grows it!

I feel really bad for Pete.  Now that we think it is anxiety, I wonder what you can do to help him?

Is your folks dog over happy, in his face, playful?

You may think he likes to play with this dog, but it sounds like he may not.  Did he get attacked at a dog park or anything you remember?
