Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
A few months ago I posted about bringing home our new family member Brooklyn! I received such heartfelt responses and kind words it felt wonderful! It's been a while since I posted and I just wanted to give everyone an update! Brooklyn looked like this when I first posted:
She has brought such joy into our lives! She's so kind and so sweet, I haven't even heard her growl unless she's playing with one of her toys! Her bark is deep and can be startling for her size and her personality!
Here is Brooklyn growing like a weed!
3 weeks ago, only 2 months after we brought Brooklyn home, My senior dog, Oreo, got Ill very suddenly and passed away 6 days after I brought him to the vet to find out what was wrong.
It was a painful experience, where I'm plagued with a mixture of sadness and guilt. We thank God that we had Brooklyn to help ease our pain. From experience, walking into an empty home after losing a pet is much more difficult. She was meant to be here.
As the days go on, time is helping us heal. And so is this mush of absolute joy and love! I have never encountered a dog quite like Brooklyn: She just loves to love! We joke "What's Brooklyns favorite thing? To love!" "What's Brooklyn's least favorite thing? When she can't love something!"

Thank you for the wonderful update on Brooklyn. All too often we don't get feedback. I am so sorry to hear about Oreo.
Brooklyn is growing up to be such a beauty! Thank you for posting. I am sorry about Oreo but grateful Brooklyn is helping to ease your pain. Losing a pet is so hard, and it sounds like your loving girl is just what you have needed.
Brooklyn is gorgeous, thanks for the update. So sorry for your loss but so happy Brooklyn was there to help ease some of your sorrow. What a Love Bug!
Brooklyn is sooo cute and getting so grown up! The pictures are darling and I especially love the first one! These Doodles are definitely "love bugs" and bring so much happiness to a family. I am so sorry about the loss of Oreo and time does help in the healing, but it still sad and hard for all of you. Brooklyn will help with the healing I'm sure.
Awww, she is such a super cute puppy! You are lucky she is such a lover as a puppy. My boy was such a brat at her age, and now that he is 60 lbs has decided to become my lap dog :) I too am sorry to hear about your Oreo, I remember the experience coming home to emptiness, I am so glad that Brooklyn is there for you....
Nicole, Brooklyn is beautiful! You can just see love and intelligence lighting up her face. I'm so glad you had her to turn to when you lost your Oreo. It's so awful to lose a beloved member of the family. There is a saying though, one door closes and another opens...so glad Brooklyn was behind the other door for you!!
Your Brooklyn has a, "you ARE coming pet me, right" look on her face =:) She sounds like she could make a great therapy dog. I'm glad you had Brooklyn there to help you through your loss of Oreo. I never want to expenience that "empty house" feeling again so I have a two dog minimum limit at home :)
What a great update on Brooklyn. Sorry to hear of your loss of Oreo. I know how painful it can be and how a doodle can help ease the pain. It happened to me when my beloved Cole' passed away. Haley helped ease the pain and filled our house with love.
Brooklyn is beautiful.
So sorry for your loss, but glad that you have Brooklyn to help you heal. Enjoy!
I'm so sorry for your loss of Oreo. Glad things are going so well with Brooklyn and you have her to help ease your grief.
