Yeah, same here. We used them for over a year and they seem to want to prescribe medication and science diet like crazy but give very little practical advice or care tips.
I think it depends on the location. Our Banfield vet back home was great and didn't give us medications unless necessary and always discussed options with us. We have started going to a new Banfield since the move and I have had good experiences here too.
Wish we could find one like the first you used!
I agree with a second opinion. Hope he feels better soon.
I know it might sound funny, but check IN his nose to see if he might have a piece of grass or other foreign matter. Buddy was sneezing constantly for a half a day and I finally checked in his nose. He had a flat piece of grass tucked up in the corner of his nose and when I pulled it out with a tweezer, I am not kidding, it was at least 4 inches long. He must have been eating grass and sneezed it up into his nose.
Yes, my Gracie Doodle had the same thing. Her's was a small tiny 1" long Mexican Feather Grass stem and seed. We have those kinds of things here in So.California along with fox tails...both of which can get up the nose. The vet had to put Gracie out and then scope around in her nose. He had to really look and almost gave up but tried one more time and found it. There are turbinator, nooks and crannies in those noses and it is really hard to find things. A good vet who is just about certain there is a foreign object in there won't give up. IMO I would use a different vet!
