We have a wonderful breeder who does temperament testing on her puppies at 7 weeks and I am wondering if anyone has used a breeder that does the testing and how accurate within reason, the test results are after you have had time with your new puppies.

My breeder does early temperament testing and the tests were spot on with my boys. I had them retested by someone else at 1 year just for fun to compare and the result were the same as at seven weeks.

Our breeder also uses temperament testing at 7 week.  We were absolutely thrilled with her choice for us.  Charlie is now 2 and my little soul dog.  We got a parti ALD from the same breeder in Oct 2013 and he is 7 mos now.  They are just what we asked for!  Looking forward to seeing your new little one.

My breeder also did Temperament testing at 7 weeks, and picked out 2 puppies for me based on my needs.  I wanted sweet, funny, submissive, smart, but lower on the energy scale since I can no longer run as my main exercise.  I chose the little boy because he was less frenetic than the little girl, and I've been thrilled.  He certainly still has lots of energy, but is quick to allow me to be alpha and sumits quickly and sweetly.  The breeder kept the little girl for future breeding, so I felt honored that she selected her two favorites for me.  I was the only one of the 10 owners who did not choose based on looks or color.  I was all about the temperament being the number one criteria.  (And I lucked out with him being pretty cute as well)

Our breeder does temperment testing and I had never heard of this before! I had wanted to see the puppies and see which one "felt" right!  I was sceptical but did a lot of research and found that it does work!  We had requested a female and told her that we had very young grandkids, did a lot of camping, hiking, kayaking and snowshoeing - it was hard because we are very active, had young kids at our house weekly but also wanted a snuggler!  She was bang on - our Myla could not be more perfect for our lifestyle.  When we went to pick her up, there were a couple other puppies available as it was a big litter and two people had decided to wait for future litters so we did have a choice - one was a bit smaller but when the breeder looked at the temperment testing, she said that it wouldn't be as good with smaller kids so it wouldn't be for us!  I am so glad that we went on her advice!!!!  I cannot imagine our life without Myla -  our youngest grandaughter (14 months) was over today and Myla was so gentle with her!  and she goes for long snowshoes with my DH and loves swimming (or she did last summer when she was 5 months old - hopefully, she still will this summer!!!  She is definitely a cuddler - and just the bestest - I would recommend temperment testing all the time!  It works!!!!
