Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We are getting a little boy F1b Mini Goldendoodle. We need help naming him. We will get him the first weekend in April. We have a mini F2 Goldendoodle and her name is Ava. The names don't need to match.

We had gotten a tiny f1b mini Goldendoodle female but later that night the breeder said her daughter was devastated, so we gave her back.

Oh and add Dublin to the list.

I love Baxter, Benji, Tucker, and Murray!  Good names Lori!

Love Ava and Arnie!  Can't wait to see photos of your new little guy!

My male Black Labradoodle's name is Bentley, so I'm of course partial to that name... lol.

But, that's why our female Goldendoodle's name is Porsche. She was the second doodle.

When we pick a name for a dog we'll usually have some kind of list of names we like and then once we get the pup we'll try them out and usually not pick a name from our list even. We stay away from any name that ends in the "O" sound. It seems to confuse the pup at first when training them for the word "NO". Our dog Zippo taught us that 35 years ago. We also try to pick names that have the ending sound of the name different than other dogs that we own. Again causes less confusion so that the dogs know and learn thier own names easier. Next I usually like to try and find a name that is somewhat different, but I haven't been able to find that since my Rough Coated Collie female Ishi. Truthfully, Ishi should be a male's name.

I love picking out puppy names, but I like to know the pup first and see what they like too. He'll let you know when you get it right.
