I have been watching tutorials on youtube, and attempting to follow directions and do what they do to learn different techniques until I develop my own.... I will post different trials as I experiment....

Wow, you are really progressing quickly.   I am just plodding along at my usual pace.  Love that photo of your daughter, or rather the digital painting of the photo of your daughter.

The Corel Tutorial helps... I did the portrait of my daughter as I watched the tutorials. I figure this will be a good way to leanr what I can do and how to do somethings on the program... I looked into community college near me, but they are nor offering anything.. :-( So, for now, Youtube is my teacher.....

Well, whatever you are doing, it is definitely working.  I am going to look into some tutorials also.  I'm just not making the progress I want in my Digital Art class.  Now I have everything all set up, I want to get some paintings done.  I have photographs that I want to use.  My son just says to figure it out.  So, you are ahead of me.

Very Nice, and your Daughter is Gorgeous!!!  Was this done using Corel?

Yes, I did it with my Corel Painter 12, and did it along side with Corel tutorials, since I have no idea to what I am doing... LOL

I tried using layers and going back and forth with photoshop. I was attempting to cut out background and adding another background.... I wonder if there is a way to add another picture as another layer? It was super confusing... :-( I wished  know how to make the "blending " part around my daughter to be more " see through" instead of being blue-ish.

When we do a Google Hangout, I'll show you a way to use a "layer mask" in Photoshop to replace the background.

Yes! Tomorrow late evening is good if possible...  My son's best friend - they have been friends since 4 years old, now 18 -, his dad suddenly passed away and we are going to the veiwng tomorrow. I work Sat. :( and will be in NYC on Sun. :)  I will register (?) for the google Hang out ASAP! Thank you!
