Yes! That's it! Once you've tweaked the photo (optimized the color, contrast, etc,) SAVE AS a copy so you can go back to your untouched original later if you need to. I usually saved this copies as a .PNG rather than .JPEG because the image quality goes down on jpegs each time you re-save them. If you want to make it smaller for web, do another SAVE AS (a .jpg) before you reduce the file size.
Got it!  If you save the cleaned up copy as a .PNG, I am assuming you can save a copy as a JPEG if you cropped or fiddled with it.
Yep! You got it, babe! :)

Linda, Would you please talk about t the layers?

What would be the benefit of using layers, how to combine them in the finished product, etc... ( When I used the layers and attempted to crop the final at the end, both layes did not fit perfectly resulting in creating blurr double pictures.)

Sorry, I know it s such an elementary question...

Hi Kyoko,

I do most of my layer work in Photoshop. I'll often paint several versions of a painting in Corel Painter - sometimes focusing on just the eyes or the fur or the background - and then I'll stack those layers in Photoshop and use Layer Masks to bring out one area of this one, and one area of another one.  (Does that make sense?)

It does!!!

Yes, it does!!  I have to try it to fully get a good grasp of it, though. Yesterday, I began working on something I edited on photoshop. I guess you have to do a whole lot of experimental work to really get comfortable with it and see what you like and is comfortable with....

I typically take an image back and forth between Photoshop and Corel Painter.

Not really, but it makes more sense now that I have seen you do it.  Thank you sooooo much.

I had never heard of this form of Art until I joined this group...how long has this Corel, Technical Art been around?  It really fascinates me.

I've been playing around with Corel Painter (not to be confused with PaintShop) with a Wacom Intuos Tablet for several years. The tablet's stylus pen is touch sensitive and simulates holding a paint brush, pencil, ink pen, etc., in your hand.

If you're available this evening, we're thinking about doing a Google Hangout to discuss Corel Painter. You should "hangout"with us!

Me too!! What time? My google account is margettsdiane@gmail.com . . . Don't think I ever gave that to you . . .  What is the process to join the "hangout"?
