Thats right folks, Lupin ate a mouse.  A frozen, dead mouse that she dug out of the snowbank by the neighbor's wood pile.  A mousesicle, if you will.  I almost lost my diner.  I'm giving her a bath.

I know. That's so gross. Finn found a petrified mouse within 2 days of bringing him home. I dove into his mouth and got it out, not realizing what is was until it was in my hand. Yikes!! His new feast is rabbit poop! It's everywhere and he finds it all. I'm constantly jerking him away. My friend calls it dog caviar.
Just saw this. That is Ruby's new source of protein. It is gross.
Ruby always follows me around-my little shadow. I left the room and was very surprised not to see her behind me. She was on the couch playing with a cat toy and I was thrilled to zip to the bathroom by myself!! A new era, I thought, this is wonderful (she is 4 months old). I come back to see her playing with the realistic mouse toy, which I swore I put away. YUP. It was a newly dead mouse she was batting around. After screaming enough to wake the dead, (yes, I'm one of those females), I bagged it, called the vet and imagined the worst. There were no puncture wounds, we do not use mice poisoning ( have 4 great cat mousers), and the visions of her being treated for rabies or an equally horrible disease slowly faded. I kept the mouse for 24 hours just in case, watched Ruby like a hawk, and will be very grateful if I never have to repeat the process.
