Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Aaarrrrgghhhhhhhh. back from the groomers. Despite instructions she made him poodle-like , shaved portions on his snout. I am furious. His whole personality has been hijacked. He looks silly.
He is 5 months old. I cannot bear it. How long before he assumes his beautiful goldendoodle look. I am never taking him to the groomer again. NEVER

I'll bet this has happened to all of us...one time, entering the groomer, I looked at Baker & thought 'I sure hope that isn't my dog'...of course, it was...she shaved all down his snout like a poodle, took his beard & facial hair off, he looked AWFUL!
It grows...in a couple of weeks he'll look better & it just gets better from there :) are you going to post a picture? it's probably not as bad as you think...:) as 'they' say...it's just hair & it grows...:)
Oh, Meera I am so sorry this happened, especially when you were so concerned to begin with. One good thing, it grows back pretty fast! It is definitely not the worst thing that can happen and your baby is beautiful no matter what!! Don't go back there unless you have a long talk with them:)
The last groomer I went to ,I took pictures from the Doodle calender and she has been my last groomer. She cuts all of mine just like I ask. But it took a lot of groomers to find the One. Good luck...
I'm so sorry that this happened. Many of us have had problems finding a groomer that will cut our doodles the way we would like for them to be cut. Tara never came back looking like a poodle but she didn't look like a doodle either. Finally I said "Enough" and started grooming her myself. I don't do a great job but I still like my cut better then any cut she ever got from a groomer. Please join us in the DK Grooming Group for tips on how to educate your groomer or how to home groom.

And you will be surprised how fast it grows back! :)
Oh yikes, I would so hate that. Luckily it does grow back in the case of doodles. In other breeds you can totally ruin their coats for ever with a bad groom. I do my own and after two years of practice am pretty happy with the results. All it takes is the right tools and some courage. Oh and lots of great advice from the grooming group here on DK.
Everyone,
Thanks so much for your kind words of support, understanding and encouragement. They really really made me feel better. So glad I found this group. My puppy is of course the same sweet boy and I still love him to bits.
I am sorry but he looks so cute. Cooper got groomed yesterday and I am going to save this pic for next time. I hate the way they did his face.
