As far as cuteness?  Dead on.  But thanks for snopesing this - the first photo isn't even the same breed of dog as the series of photos with the baby.  The first photo looks like a Belgian Malinois and the series of photos looks like a Neapolitan Mastiff.  Not even close.

I thought that it was meant to be a joke...at least the first part because as Marnie has pointed out, the dogs look nothing alike.  However, like Maryann, I wanted to believe the dog and baby photos because they were so cute.  They made me smile.

If the story is false I wonder if the photos are too... these days you can create a photo to be pretty much anything you want it to be.  They're still super cute (though no matter how much I trusted my dog I would never allow the smashing the baby down thing happen in a million years)! That last picture is very precious.

The pictures of the dog with the baby have been around for a long time. they are on other forum posts from 5 years ago. I do think they are real.

I would be terrified to let him 'hug' my baby, not because he might bite or maul him, but simply because he is soooooooo big that a paw could so easily squish him.
