Thats funny. I can totally picture the mad dash!!!
Peri won't go initially in the wet grass. We have to go outside with her and say "poopoo time" - which she does understand because we've done it since she was a puppy and used to treat her when she went. So yes, I do have a dog that poos on command! It takes coaxing!
Yeah, my 3 year old dog poos and pees on command as well. It sure is nice... Hopefully Molly will follow suit in that regard.
We'd have the perfect set up if either of our doodles hated wet grass (which, in the Pacific NW, is something we have an abundance of). We have a large paver stone patio and a stone step path to the side yard where its all pea gravel. That's where the dogs go anyway because we don't want urine burns on our lawn. That doesn't sound feasible in your situation though. Maybe you could get a golf mat to put on your concrete porch? Are those things cleanable, I wonder?
I'm really hoping it won't be an ongoing thing. However, if the porch peeing does continue, I am going to have to find something. As the small porch I have would be covered in pee in no time.
Run a hose over it every day...lol..
When our grass was wet or it was raining, I had to literally push my son's doberman outside and onto the grass. I had to stand and block him until he went. He HATED wet....
My girl Bailey always goes to the same place to pee...the yard across the street from us. Well, the guy hasn't cut his grass in forever and it is up to Bailey's back but she still goes into the very tall grass to pee....wet soggy tall grass does not deter her! I swear, I would lose her in that grass if she was not on a leash! I am glad she does not poop there....I would never find it.
I'm sure that is a pain for you, but that is SO sweet that you do that for Goldie. I tried that for Sophie, but the rain was so loud hitting the umbrella, that is scared her even more!!!
It was raining hard Tuesday morning... Luna REFUSED to go out to pee. She therefore had to hold it from Monday night at 10 pm until my DH got home at 4 Tuesday afternoon. Even if we're home all day (on a weekend) and it's raining we try to let her out every couple hours and she just won't go until the rain stops for a while.
I'm pretty sure it's because the grass is wet and she doesn't like it... but she also won't pee on the patio at all so she just comes back inside and holds it instead!
Finnley loves anything wet and rain is just that ! She has no problem on the wet grass.
Walking.... running..... rolling.....
I swear if she could, she would raise her paws to the sky, and praise the rain spirits.
