Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi Everyone,

After weeks and weeks of researching and dog sitting my wife and I have settled that we wanted goldendoodle as our first pet.  I've been in contact with a GoldenDoodle breeder and she has this little girl.   The mom is a purebred Golden Retriever and Dad is a purebred Toy Poodle.  So a F1. The breeder says that "she has a very flat coat which is unusual" and is "easy to pick out" from the rest of the litter.

What do you guys think?  Any pictures of your pups who look like this girl and adult pictures?  Although I think a coat like a golden retriever is beautiful, my concern is shedding.  I don't mind a nice wavy and fluffy coat, just not curly.

THANKS!

Here are some pictures of my doodle from 10weeks to 30 months...almost 3 now.  I inserted your puppy's picture...good luck.  Skadi's coat has changed many times from more curly to shaggy.  Notice how tail becomes big plume as they get older.  Lovely puppy...hopefully a great looking doodle.  So the dad was a "toy" poodle?  and the mom a golden retriever?  Wow.

I think she will be shaggy....she already shows signs of wispy facial hair. I don't think she'll be flat coated, probably just a nice "muppet like" shag that will be oh so cute!!!
My Millie wasn't very shaggy at that age either and her facial hair looked very similar - now at 8 mths she has full facial hair and is a little shaggy beast, but (so far) doesn't need to be clipped, it's about 3-4 inches long. Just perfect! :)
(Looks very much like Auggie)

Very cute puppy......get her!

I agree, very cute and I think she'll be gorgeous.... Temperament is SO important too, I'm sure you've asked lots of questions about the mom and dad's personalities and health testing, how pups turned out from previous litters, etc. ( by the sounds of it you've really being doing your research first)
