My husband and I are so excited to be getting a standard male. Just for fun we have been tossing around names. The first runner up is Toby after that I think it's Mason. What do you all think? We will make a final decision once he is born and has some personality. Thanks :)

I like both of those - I think I prefer Toby, but I really like names with an "eee" on the end. Then again, I have a friend with a dog named Doug and I think that is such a classic yet hilarious male dog name! I also grew up with a Jake, we called him Mr. Jake and I love that name too :)
We had a dog named Dudley. A little girl about 4 visited us once and on her way out to the car turned and waved, saying, "Goodbye Douglas, goodbye! Doug is a great name. Dudley suited our dog perfectly but there is something about Doug that just cracks me up!
Congratulations on your new baby! I like Toby but I'm just wild about Harry, now there's a name fit for a prince of a doodle. :>)
Henry, Jules, Markus, Skyler, Mowgli, Chase, Cruise or Cruiser, Brady, Benson--that's it for now!
No reasons here--Just fooling around with a few names--have fun choosing! And be sure to call the name out the backyard a few times to see if you like shouting it!
Benson is really cute Ginny!
always liked Cooper and Murphy. But we named our big boy Shea..
Oskar would have been Jack but my grandson got the name first :)
I think goldens are elegant and deserving of dignified names like Toby and Mason, but I think Doodles are silly and need names that are a bit 'off' and bring a smile to your face. I think anything 'goofy' would work just great. With that being said, one of my doodles is Ned - which isn't goofy at all, but suits him perfectly. My other dood is Clancy, a name that has the smile factor (to me). And my non-dood definitely has smile in his name - Gordie.
Agreed!
