Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I know I just posted here yesterday about standard Goldendoodle boy names. However, today I got a call from someone wanting to re-home two standard poodles. She told me that she was re-homing them for someone. She was telling me about the younger poodle and she said that he hasn't had shots in 4 years but is fixed!!! YIKES!!! Part of me feels so awful for these dogs, the other part of me is saying wait for the Goldendoodle that you want in December. Just to let you know I helped this lady re-home a standard poodle that was going to be put down almost a year ago. I don't know a lot about this lady other than she breeds Labradoodles. All in all, these dogs just might be hers but I don't know. Should I help, should I not?
Thanks for the input!!

Wait--you will have your dog for many years--a few more months of patience will pay off because you will have a pup that will grow up with you--however, you could still foster the poodle and help to place him--great for a family that can't afford a pup and has allergy issues!
How did she find you?
Is there any possibility of meeting the dogs to see if you think they would be a good fit in your life and home? When we decided to get another dog, we tried several times to find a rescue that needed a good home, but we were never "selected" for one of the rescues. Guess they thought we were too old :), or already had to many dogs (since we also have 4 dachshunds - who are currently in bed with me while our two doodle puppies are playing on the floor), or whatever! Anyway - do what your heart tells you. Puppies are wonderful - but so are very grateful rescues.
I wonder if these poodles are actually her breeding dogs? What do you think about giving her information in regard to local poodle rescue group? If they are her breeding dogs, then I do not like her dishonesty....
What kind of breeder doesn't vaccinate her dog?
May be you can ask her if you can directly contact the people who is seeking to rehome them. So that it can be much clear about the dogs...( true rehome or are they hers..?) However, regardless, these guys need home. May be she can put it on her website, she can contact local breed specific rescue group for poodles, etc...? "Helping" does not always have to be "you" taking on the responsibility of providing, but can be redirecting and connecting to the different resources as well. If she is truly seeking to rehome and truly helping someone else rehoming their dogs, she might as well become more resourceful than always calling and depending on an individual she does not know very well, and depend on her kindness. ( No offence to you at all. But if this is what she is going to do often, she then need to become much resourceful..)
I hope the babies find their forever homes... ( My Pinot Grigio is a rehomed standard poodle)
I think she needs to find a reputable Poodle rescue organization and contact them for help. Good luck! I hope these sweet dogs find great homes.
I agree - a rescue group sounds like the perfect solution. Unless, of course, they know her and she is unwilling to contact them due to a bad reputation? Who knows.....other than these poor dogs need good homes. You're a peach to help!
I agree about poodle rescue. I also agree about waiting on goldendoodle.
Have you found a good breeder yet? FYI *most* reputable breeders do not place adds in the paper......
This lady sounds like she is a puppy mill - just my humble opinion. Although I would want to help her, tread cautiously - it sounds very suspect.
