Toby is black, so these don't show up as much as they could, but what is the best way to get these dried, for lack of a better word, goobers out of the hair around his eyes? I try to wipe his eyes with a kleenex if I see something, but more often than not they are dried. I've tried a warm wash cloth, but still end up pulling them out with my finger nails. Is there a better way? I just want my boy to be pretty. :)

I use warm wet wipes.
our groomer told me to use a comb also....just be careful.
I use a flea comb too.
Today his face is totally soaked from sticking his head repeatedly in the snow. so I've been able to easily remove them all from his wet fur. My floors are oh-so-wet today.....
I just use my fingers-- the doodles think goobers make great snacks!!!

whoops did I say that out loud? LOL...;-)
Oh - that is disgusting. I use my fingers too - I just thought there might be a better way.
OMG, I'd better be more careful when I remove Oski's eye goobers, but then I wouldn't want to deprive him of valuable protein...ROFL!!

Seriously, have you actually seen them eating them?
Um...you expect me to answer that after your reaction!? ;-)
Well... Clark (I blame it on him) taught them to eat them. So now, we pick and feed--seriously it's not ¼ as grosses it sounds... And it works great when you're not home and you need to clean their eyes fast ROFL!

I DOUBLE DOODLE DOG DARE YOU TO TRY IT!
Can't...move...gasping for breath while snorting & ROFLMBO!!!
Our dogs like it so much that they start licking their lips when we are starting to pick the goobers. MMMMM-MMMmmmmmm!
hahahaha, me too!!! however, I don't feed them to Bruce per say, I lay them on a piece of paper, and he tracks them down, and I don't have to worry if I drop one, because he surely will find it in seconds! gross gross gross. (it takes quite a bit more to gross me out, as I have worked in an animal shelter, and a grooming shop....but I shall spare you those details)
happy holidays everyone!
Cracking up! I feed Callie her eye boogers and call it the "ultimate recycling". I have a high gross-out threshold too, and feeding them to her seems less gross than wiping them on my pants. I'm very impressed with the people taking the time to go find a tissue!
