Les Poochs production suspended until Fall

I contacted Kemp (our DK Les Pooch expert) at Doodle Country to see about getting a Les Pooch brush for Goldie. While he did help me land on the one we need, the Regular size Purple Brush, he also informed me that they are currently out of all brushes except the Wide sized green ones.

I wanted to share what he had to say just in case anyone else out there is looking for a Les Pooch:

"The Les Poochs Company has stopped shipping brushes to all retailers while the company is reorganizing and relocating their production facility. Most retailers have been sold out of the brushes for several months. We anticipate production to be halted until the fall season. The Doodle Country Store is the largest volume online retailer of Les Poochs brushes, and we have been given priority to receive the first shipment when production resumes. If you would like to be notified when the brushes are available please request to be included on our waiting list....Contact: [e-mail]"

With that said, I don't suppose anyone happens to have an extra purple les pooch they could mail me to borrow or buy do they? ;) I can't even find them on ebay anymore!

I guess I will start the DK search for another brush recommendation to get me through the dreaded coat change because I won't be able to wait until Fall.

I was at what I think was there factory once, or one of them in Rockland County , NY. I went there to buy a green brush for Luca. But I do know they have had problems filling orders at times for a couple of years now. I use my green and purple sometimes so no extras here : ( I guess you could try Sandy's recommendation.

I am in a similar situation.  I bought a small green one for a while back.  At the time Lola was smaller, her hair was shorter and she was still pretty sensitive to the brush - so that made sense.  My plan was to add the big purple a few months later.  First I went to Kemp's website, which showed them to be out.  The actual Les Poochs website did not indicate that they were out of production, accepted my order and said that it would ship within 24 to 48 hours. That did not happen, and no one from the company has responded to my inquiry as to the status.  I just saw this post, which of course explains it.  In any case, I'm not quite sure what to do because Lola's now 10 months, her coat is changing and that little green one just isn't cutting it. I have a groomer that does a great job, but she will only let me keep her hair long if I prove to her that I can keep it free of mats.  Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative?

Sorry. I really did wait months for mine and I really don't brush the doodles often. But there are lots of folks on DK who don't use Les Poochs brushes. there are alternatives. Did you try calling Les Poochs.

No worries - it was a teasing kind of "not funny" that may not have come across too well online.

Jay, it sounds like we have the same groomer. haha. that is exactly what my groomer told me which is why I'm on the mad hunt for a good brush. Everyone thinks it's crazy that my groomer left me a few pretty big mats to work on myself but I get why she did it. It took me over 3 hours to get those mats out. It was clearly a lesson that I need to do better and I can't expect my groomer to block out that dematting time all the time. It was either leave those for me or shave Goldie... which she knew I would be upset about. 

Since we are in the same boat, keep me posted with what you find/try! We'll get through this together. Haha

Sounds good. I suppose that if the unavailability of a $100 dog brush is the worst thing we have to worry about, life is still pretty good!
