Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Am I crazy ? I just wrote a check for $2k plus Tax plus another $300 to ship my brand new gorgeous australian mini labradoodle. Ughhh. Don't tell my husband or he will kill me. I tried looking locally (w/in a 100 mile driving distance) but to no avail. Seems that mini (20 ish pounds) are hard to find. Once I found a puppy that was ready to go NOW, was the color I wanted (brown w green eyes) I just paid the price asked by the breeder. Didn't try to negotiate because he seemed like such a hard working guy with a farm and kids and doing something he loved. What did you pay?

I paid total of over 3k including air fare . She is worth it !!! You will not be sorry.

We got our F1b pup from the same breeder as deanna silver. I never told my husband how much he was. I just sent in the initial deposit of $500 and the rest was in cash. ;) My husband knows he is priceless to us as he was purchased as a family pet with the hope he would be non-shedding/low shed and a companion to our 6yr old autistic boy who is an escape artist. Last April at the beach cottage our son got out of the house twice without us seeing him..very frightening..he is incredibly sneaky. The first time Chopper (4 months old) ran right after him and we found our son playing on a sand dune 3 houses down because Chopper was lying at the bottom of the dune focused intently on our son. We were stunned! The second time our son got out he had climbed the gate we built to keep him in :/ This time Chopper broke through one of the wood decking saftey bars and jumped 8' down into the sand to chase after him. I was already in hot pursuit of our son when I noticed Chopper racing by me wondering how the heck he got off the deck.
Here he is taking a time out from our game of fetch to herd our little escape'.

Wow Kimberly, that gave me chills!  What a wonderful companion.  I be your husband would not blink about the cost, now.

We paid $2,300 for Quincy who was the last in his litter to go at 11 weeks - worth every penny.

He did ask me how much I paid and I told him "if you have to ask you can't afford it."  /:)

I am sure Chopper gives you some reassurance.

It really does. We have since taken more measures to try and contain our little Houdini but it's really nice to know there is an extra pair of eyes and 4 legs to chase him down. :)

They will be great pals forever!  Chopper is one terrific Doodle!

Kimberly - that is an amazing story.  If you can have some enhanced peace of mind, your dog is truly priceless.  Thanks for sharing!

Kimberly, what a beautiful story and great little puppy. He is also beautiful, enjoy.

I paid $1900 for my mini goldendoodle.  I noticed though, that the price has gone up since then, which was two years ago.  It sounds about right to me, actually.  The money will be WELL WORTH IT.  You will have a family member for years to come (hopefully) that you will ADORE.  It won't take long for you to forget about that money.  And to answer your question, YES, you are crazy...DOODLE CRAZY!  Welcome to DK!  You're in the right place!

We paid $3000 with shipping and Hurley is priceless to us.  He is such a gentle soul.  So loving and caring, energetic, bright and well you all know what I mean.  I can honestly say I have never loved one of my pets more but then I truly loved them all and treasured them as much as I treasure Hurley.  However, he is simply unique and full of personality leaving us laughing almost to tears quite often.  He is now about 55 lbs and 20 months old and leaving the puppy stage to fast for    me.   ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!!!!!

Cute too.
