Ok we are getting a Doodle puppy this weekend.  I have two crates so what else do I need? What are the best chew toys.  I keep hearing Kong mentioned.  I have an older dog so he just chews a little on a bone then he is good.  Lol.  Also any advise on introducing the pup to my old man Boston terrier would be great.  Thanks.

Nature's Miracle and paper towels, food and water dish, collar and leash.  I bought Ned puppy toys - puppy Kong, Puppy Nylabone, Puppy chew toy, and a stuffie.  Once I determined what he liked and how much of a 'destroyer' he was, I got more toys.  You will need a brush and comb - but how much you need to get something specialized or to spend really depends upon his coat. Some people get Snuggle puppies to comfort their guys when crated.

I would introduce the two dogs in the most neutral place you have - front yard?  I wonder if you could get something that the puppy has laid on and introduce your Boston to it now?

Congrats! Right now, with an eleven week old pup, how to housebreak your dog in seven days and puppies for dummies are my constant companion. :). I introduced my two last week in the yard. It went well. Can't wait to see pictures of your baby!
Thank you both. Very excited. I will post pics once we pick the one for us. Thanks for the list of toys. One more question, what flea and tick stuff can you use on puppies? I use front line on Ping.

Join the Puppy Madness group asap!!!! All the advice you need is there! Have fun, take tons of pictures and videos! Realize a good nights sleep in just weeks away!\

The best advice that has ever been given to me is 'remember that no matter how old your dog is, they like a 30 month old toddler!!!'

Congratulations! Absolutely listen to Nancy, Nature's Miracle and lots of paper towels are a must! We really loved our exercise pen, it helped with blocking off areas and provided a nice contained area when we weren't able to keep a super close eye on Oliver (cooking, getting ready in the morning, etc.). As for chew toys I would recommend some beef tendons (Jones brand is fantastic) and the Planet Dog Orbee stuffable toys. I would also recommend the JW Holee Roller, it's not a chew toy, but it's a fabulous interactive toy. You put something large-ish in it and takes a while for them to roll around and get out--15 minutes of silence when you have a puppy is a great thing! :)
