Hi All, My question is....is diatamatious earth the best and safest way to deal with snails and slugs?
Also best annuals that dogs don't like eat.........is there such a plant? :-)
Happy gardening!

Wiggins eats bark :-( and twigs. Doesn't lead to much relaxing time sitting in our yard as we spend our time getting up to relieve him of his "finds" and offering his bones or other chewies. I guess colour in the yard will have to take a back seat for a year or so :-(

I would think the diatomaceous earth is good and safe. My dogs don't eat anything but grass, I am happy to say.

My sister who is very earthy and eco friendly (lives on an island Little House on the Praire style) strongly advocates for Sluggo and Sluggo Plus (if you have other creatures attacking plants).  We've tried the diatomacious earth and haven't seen as good as results as Sluggo Plus for creepy crawlies.  Either one is pet safe.
