Matted Tail

Charli's tail mattes from the tail bone out. Even though she is 4, her tail fur gets matted like a puppy blowing it's puppy coat.

Any suggestion for a dematting tool?  Thanks!

I use two for my puppy's coat. I like them both and they were very cheap.

Be careful with this one as you can easily over groom and thin out the hair.

I always use the thinning shears to remove mats from Tara's tail. She isn't tolerant of the dematting tools and maybe I am using them incorrectly. But with the shears I can just thin the mats and then they comb/brush out. It does thin the tail hair some but on Tara  it really isn't noticeable.

I just use the large end of my steel comb and grooming spray. Takes time sometimes, but it works. I start at the tip of the tail and work up.
