Has anyone had to repair something like this? I'm trying to figure out the easiest and most cost effective way. It's not a fancy new carpet so it doesn't have to be perfect, but now she has dug to the point where you can see the wood underneath. She did this this morning when I was in and out of sleep and my boyfriend was in the bathroom getting ready for work.

are those wood floors below it?  I would just pull it out and expose the wood floors then :)

If not...I have no idea... my dog Zoe did this to the corner of the carpet in our small room.  It's the only room in the house that has carpet.  I think we are going to just change out the entire carpet in that room anyways.

My cats do this too.  You can tack it down with carpet boards. I hate those things but it will repair and grip the carpet better.

They are called Carpet Tack Strips and can be found at any HomeDepot or Lowes for very little cost
Our Bella did this and a carpet man came and stretched the carpet, cut off the extra chewed area and tacked it all back down like new. It was around $100 or so I think.

I agree with Sue. It actually does look like it needs stretched. Don't blame this completely on the dog, because it happens on high-traffic areas.

Put a Pretty New rug down and ignore it  :)

Looks like you have a tack strip there and those hurt. Careful of your dog's paw and your bare feet

Wow I didn't know carpet stretches!!!

I work in commercial flooring and this is what I would recommend if the carpet is able to be stretched that much or like someone else said, take the same carpet from an inconspicuous area and have it patched in.

Breanna, Libby did the same thing to our carpet and we tried to stretch it, but she had eaten too much of it.  We called a carpet repair person and he took a piece of the same carpet from a closet and patcted it in and you cannot tell where it was torn up. He was very reasonable and it only took about thirty minutes. Gotta love these Doodles:)

Doc recently did the same thing except took up about 3 feet of carpet and pad. It was at an entry door so we had a repair man come and lay tile in the entry.

Looks like you could put a larger wood saddle over that area?  I would think it would have to be done by someone who knows wood flooring.
