We did it - we got another one!  How do you decide when is a good time? How do you determine which dog?

It's time and he was there.

He is a rehome, fourteen months old, has had some training (needs more!),  but he's a love. He needs to lose weight - ten or more lbs easily - my guess is that he clears 80lbs and he has enormous bones.  He moves like - and has feet like a Polar Bear.  This week will be vet visit, groomer, and lots of patience.

Intro went well and the two dogs played and played yesterday.   He managed to get halfway through my daily 'test' of down/stay - nearly half hour - for  feeding rituals.   He rode home like a pro.  He picked the green beans out of his dinner bowl and put them on the floor.   He drinks gobs of water.  He is seriously people oriented - wonderful with small children - spent the night on the floor by the bed (too big for crate we have) so we let Journey have the floor also for the night.  They are still snoring :)

Lots of work ahead - so I am asking for good thoughts and some moral support.  We weren't crazy about a puppy again, have been looking here and there = high and low.  He looks and moves like an old dog - but he's a youngster.  A mellow fellow - thus far.  He paces, he sticks like glue to us, and he is not much of a fetcher. He has gobs of thick cream fleece - it's curly/wavy, thick and feels not unlike wool (gads he needs a bath) - our groomer has a big day coming... Green eyes, liver nose - sort of the flip side of the coin - our very feminine girl now has a big galoot for a brother!

I actually wasn't looking at all for a second dood.  But an e-mail from an adoption group that I had been on for 18 months just struck me.  There was something about her photo and her story that told me that I needed to change my plans and take Kona to go meet her.  The line was out the door to adopt her, but the instant rapport between her and Kona turned all of the rescue workers heads and I heard them whispering about how they belonged together, so I wasn't surprised at all the next morning when they called to say they chose me to rescue her (I know it was KONA they chose...not me).  Within seconds of her being in my house, I knew that it was a perfect fit and all of our lives improved. They are attached at the hip and cheek as they run around everywhere sharing the same bully stick and toys. You'd think they were Conjoined Twins!  It sounds like your two are very similar (just much bigger).

Gwendolyn - I love these 2 together.  You're right, they are attached.  Those 2 little heads just crack me up.  It was meant to be!

The 2 of them together are so cute! What a great match, and how fortunate for all of you!

Laptop Doodles!  They are soooo cute - once upon a time that was the size I thought we would get   :)

Love the story, meant to be - they are adorable and you are blessed.

This is the sweetest!  what cutie pies!

He's SO cute!!!!! We just rehomed another doodle 2 days ago, and I know exactly what you're going through! Mine's 7 months, with a urinary tract infection....so I'm not sure if he's not potty trained, or if there's just more urgency to pee due to the infection. I love this site...there's always someone here to help when you're about to rip your hair out! Good luck!
