Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hey folks - our little guy is not so little any more and is getting ready to grow out of his crate. We're looking for something both sturdy and affordable - this is our top contender at the moment. Just wanted to check with all of you dog owners before we go ahead and purchase - does anyone have other recommendations?

I agree! We no longer use ours but I have it stored "just in case". I don't know if all of the wire crates fold or not, but ours does so it's easy to stick in the trunk of the car if we have to and of course, for storing - so that might be something to look for also. I also agree that the bigger, the better after they are potty trained.
I think I bought this last large crate off of ebay and it was buy it now New. That is where I found the best price.
Definitely go with the extra large. It sounds as if your puppy is going to need the extra room. I have the extra large and my two aren't really large Doodles. (46lbs and 55 lbs).
Emily, we have the XL crate for Libby and she weighs 48 lbs. She slept in it and was in it when we went out for the first two years. It was just perfect for her as she seems a little tall for a medium Doodle. She is now out of the crate completely, but we still have it up in our family in case there is a lot going on or someone comes in that she does not know and starts one of her barking modes. She has no problem going in it and sometimes during the day I notice she goes in it with toys and plays for awhile.
