What Should We Do About the Hopeless Doodle Addict Trophy?

The trophy is currently in limbo, awaiting a decision from me and Clark.  Sadly despite Laurie and her husband's careful fixing and packing of our highly sought after HDA trophy, it arrived at the next doorstep broken :-( 

So we need to make a decision on what kind of trophy we should seek to replace it.  We originally bought an inexpensive one and given the road it has to travel we probably need to purchase a higher quality trophy.  However, usually higher quality means heavier...and heavier means pricier shipping for everyone. We've also looked at some cool looking vintage ones and considered those. Also wondering if anyone has any opinions on what it should look like or other thoughts?

I think a medal is a great idea! Since I am now a member of this group I would not mind getting it! That was not a hint!

Ooooops, apologies to all!!  Just got back from vacation, so I'm chiming in here a little late.   I really thought that sweet little star trophy was packed to survive any disaster.  Laurie, I'm so glad you didn't hear about this before you gave Trav and me the cool presents when you were in Portland.  LOL  You can send me the bill for trophy repairs.  Or another idea might be to just subtract the repairs from what is owed to F for some long-forgotten reason....:)  I really am sorry.   

Nicky, FYI--the trophy had broken at least once before you got it, and it was all in one piece when I got it.    :)

I think a medallion is a great idea!  Maybe even an engraved plastic one, if such a thing is available.  I like the idea of Adina and Clark keeping the original.

After attempting some other avenues that didn't pan out, we've finally put in an order for the new HDA Medal.  The turn around time is 3-4 weeks.  So...hang in there next recipient, looks like you might get it before Christmas!!!
