Has anyone's pup been confused with the snow, in terms of going potty outside? Emma has had two(!) poop accidents in the house since we had our first snowstorm. She always tells us when she has to go out, but has definitely been confused about going poop outside since the snow arrived. She hasn't had any issues with peeing, but it seems that she can't really find a place in the snow "suitable" for pooping. Has anyone's pup had the same problem? I hope she's not regressing and it's just a temporary setback.
Shoveling a spot in the yard may work. I had just the opposite problem. I have a patio out my back door and a fenced yard. I just let Sadie out by herself when she asks to go out. I shovel some of the patio, an area between the house and garage but the rest I leave the snow on. In the morning when I let her out, if it snowed overnight, she will pee on the patio in the snow. When I get that area shoveled she then uses the yard even though other areas of the patio have snow on them. I think the snow on the concrete just confused her to what was under it lol.
We have had over 40 ins of snow already so it is deep in the yard but she has a trail worn around the edge of the yard where she runs and the yard is lined in bushes. She now poops in the bushes because the snow is too deep in the yard. Sadie just turned 7 mos and is a standard labradoodle so she is getting taller but there is a lot of snow out there lol
Same with Rosco! He started peeing on the snow over the concrete walkway while the snow was thick last week. Ugh! So frustrating I started going out with him and ushering him a few inches farther.
