SO I am revisiting this board.  I noticed over the weekend that my girls legs are really changing in color.  Does anyone know over how long of a period does the coat color change or does it continue to change through their lifespan?  My little girl is now 17 months and has definitely lightened from when we brought her home but to this point can still be called chocolate.  She's an F1 and both parents are chocolates?  When you run your fingers through her coat the under coat is definitely a different color with more and more white hairs!  :(

Following pictures are at 10 weeks and just shy of 13 months.

Our boy Fazzy - who's turning 1 year old today....I've started noticing little white hairs coming in along his back....but nowhere else....just along the spine.  Outside of that, he's nice and dark, with reddish highlights.  I'm HOPING that he won't lighten....not sure what the chances are of that, but no matter what we'll love him the way that he is!!

Hurley started to get
White hairs along his spine. They are few and far between each other. But his tail end is showing more sprinklings of silver or white. It will be interesting to see what he finally ends up being when an adult. He is 17 months now.

Oh good, Hurley is 17 months old and he isn't an adult yet - I have been all sad all day because Fazzy turned 1 today and I felt like I didn't have my puppy anymore  ;-)

I know what you mean about the one year birthday. I felt sad because I love the puppy. However, Hurley is still very much a puppy just that he is a more mature puppy. He is such a character and always ready to romp and play. Always up to some antic or other.
Does anyone know if there is a cutoff time where they stop changing colors or when you know they will stay the same color? Bentley (f1b) has a small white patch on his chest ( was born with it) and his ears and muzzle have turned a reddish brown because of the sun ( at least I think it's the sun). I'm wondering if he is going to get lighter or stay the same. I also wonder if he will develop that beard that I love so much in some doodles. His mother is white and his father is red.
The pictures are of him at 3 weeks and now at 9 months.

Wow, its great to see all of these brown doodles.  Milo is about 14 months old and is still changing slowly.  I still wonder what his final colour will be.
