So ... Lola and I are going to meet this little guy at his foster home to see if he might be a good addition to our pack.  Not sure why exactly but for whatever reason I just have a feeling about him.  Fortunately Lola doesn't have all that baggage and is a better judge of character.  What do people think???  Here is the link for his profile on Petfinder:  http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/27183498

It looks like he's spent some time not feeling real sure where his next meal is coming from. That's about to change, Buddy! :)

He is very thin.  The foster people said he hadn't eaten much in the week they had been within him and they thought he just wasn't interested in food.  I wasn't sure because I did some marker loading and luring with little training treats and he was very interested in those.  He was not interested in Lola's kibble or the canned food or kibble they sent home with him.  So I figured I see if he wanted an RMB, and bingo ... it was amazing, I have no idea where we put all that. First he ate all the chicken and gizards I had in the house and was licking the bowl like he was still famished. So I went to the store to get more.  He seems to have finally gotten his fill because now he is sleeping on the bed next to me.  Lola's a little jealous about all of this but she will get used to it.  She did make it very clear to him who is in charge around here earlier :)

I would be careful of giving him too much food at once until you see how he handles it.

Good advice.

Apparently he hasn't had solid stools since they brought him in a week ago, anyway. We have no idea what if anything he handles as far as digesting. Although he did poop once and it seemed okay to me. I think maybe the bone agrees with him.
Although all that food was over the course if the entire night. Not all at once.
I think it's great that he is loving raw foods. What a great way to get him to eat and so good for him. My two would think they were in doggie heaven if given 6 chicken legs. I bet you've just made a great new friend in Esau.
Good because he is little and has a little stomach especially if he hasn't been eating for a week or more. You just want to go slow in the beginning. Small meals more often. I wasn't worrying as much about poop as vomit or hurting his stomach.

Honestly I thought for sure he would vomit or at least regurgitate but I kept feeding him and amazingly he did not.  He must have a hollow leg for chicken.  Eventually we'll need to get him on a normal feeding regimen of some kind but for now I'm just glad he's eating.

What a cutie.  Eat up, big guy.  You've found your home.

This picture is priceless--the look on his face, like--are you sure all this raw chicken is for me? For me? Really?

Last night especially he reminded me of Eddie Murphy in Trading Places, when they first bring him to his fancy home and he starts pocketing everything because he doesn't believe it is really his.
