Justice for Puppy Doe: BAN the "Free Pets" Category On Craigslist

This petition will be sent to Jim Buckmaster, Craigslist's CEO.

On August 31st 2013, a young, small, female dog was found brutally tortured in a Quincy, Massachusetts park. Her injuries were so severe, so brutal, that the only humane thing to do was to euthanize her.

It was later determined that the original owner of the dog had to give her up due to breed restrictions. This owner surrendered the pup to a shelter where she was apparently adopted, and then this adopter dumped the dog on Craigslist.

Just last year in Virginia, a man was convicted of being a dog serial killer after mutilating and killing 29 puppies he collected off of Craigslist. (Story here: http://our-compass.org/2012/04/11/free-to-a-good-home-craigslist-do...)

The before and after pictures of "Puppy Doe" speak for themselves. How many more times does this have to happen before Craigslist bans these ads?

Another infamous local murder story that made headlines in 2009, known as the "Craigslist Killer" murders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Markoff) led Craigslist to ban the "erotic services" section of their site. Then, as it is now, it was sad that a violent crime had to happen in order for change to take place, but those of us who love Puppy Doe and want to do right by her, are hoping those in charge finally do the right thing.

It's beyond words that this sweet, innocent dog, that once knew love had to suffer this violent, evil fate, but at the very least, if the banning of "rehoming", and "giving away" of pets was banned on Craligslist there would be a small amount of justice in her name.
