Just saying hello Gail. Bogey is so cute. I'm Marsha, a new doodle mom. Lilly, a standard, is 11 wks and we are just getting started. Lilly is my retirement project AND I chose her with therapy dog training in mind. These dogs are the cutest!

Gail,

You might want to post your question in the Puppy Madness group. We used the bell for Hurley and he was really good to ring it when he wanted to go out. He caught on quick and he also caught on quick that ringing it got our attention and he could get us to let him out to play. So when he started ringing it to excess we would take him out to go. Not letting him play. Giving him no more than 5 minutes and keeping him in the potty area. When we would come back in and he would ring the bell soon after we would wait about 15 minutes, totally ignoring him, then take him out so he can play. We worked at distinguishing play time (which was our choice and not his) from potty time. Hope that helps. It did work because we kept at it and he caught on quickly that he wasn't going to get our attention every time he rang it.
