Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

How many doodles are in your family and how did you acquire them? We have one and are on the waiting list for #2 from our breeder next year. There's an opportunity to maybe help out a doodle in need right now and OMD he is cute. Im kind of the labradoodle go to lady in my community and answering questions etc. someone needs to rehome due to a job. I never thought I would be in this position but it literally fell in our laps. So worse case we'll probably foster the doodle until we can find a home but what if my boy becomes fast friends with him? Oh dear! My dog gets along with everyone and every dog.
I'm hoping to evaluate him this week regardless.
I'm not sure why I am writing this. I guess I just need to hear stories from other doodle lovers. My dream has always been to have 3 doodles : a cream, a black and a red. Large doodles. My hubs is cool with two. We have a cream and have a deposit on a red litter if it happens. This dog of course is black. Our current doodle is 10 months, this boy I'm trying to help out is 6 months.

Ack!

I have two doodles and would love more but the wallet and size of my house says no :(    I would foster and just see where it goes, if you fall in love with him why not keep him ???  You get the best of both worlds, you can foster and if it does not work out then he goes to his forever home, if you get along great and everyone is happy then you keep him.  My Sasha was 10 months old when I got my Ollie who was 10 weeks old and they got along just perfect.  Good luck.

If he is 6 months, you at last have some of the early puppy stuff behind you-why not give it a try as others have suggested.

We have a medium ALD that both my husband and I dote on.  I pretty much think I could talk him into getting another, but I hesitate myself.  We work long hours and it took a year to get our guy used to being home alone that much.  We do take him to camp at least once a week now.  The way our house is set up, we really don't have a space where we can gate him in so he is in a huge crate, which he runs happily into and is always sleeping when we get home.  But two?

The more doodles the merrier and more doodle kisses for you...we just have one right now(16 weeks old) but would love to have more in the future!

We have 2 & love it.  Baker is 4 & Oskar is 1 and it's worked out great.  They play several times a day but both have their independent personalities...Baker loves his pets, but then likes to be alone.  Oskar has to be with someone all the time...either us or Baker.  It's actually easier with 2...no more dog park since there is a built in playmate...Baker taught Oskar the 'rules'.  If you have a nice dog to start with, the next one, in our experience, influences the puppy to be just the same.

If you like this puppy, take him...if it works out, keep him.  You can always get a red one down the road if you still want one :)

I have "2" Goldendoodles. Ellie is two and Oliver is one. I am a stay at home mom and my husband is recently retired, so we have plenty of time to devote to them. They are both standards and require lots of exercise. I also have two sons that share with the feeding, playing and walking at night. I found my second one to be an EASY transition. Both of mine are trained and have free rome of the house. We never crate them. We did need to invest in a larger family SUV after getting a second for family trips. The Doodles ALWAYS travel with us!! In our case "2" was Definitely Better than "1"!!! GOOD LUCK~

Have one but as soon as we buy a house I'm looking for another.....or maybe 2 if I can get away with it! I think Picco would love to have a buddy.
