I think I've come to terms with having a shedder

I won't lie, one of the things that attracted me to the goldendoodle breed was the possibility that they were low to non-shedding dogs.  I understood that it may not necessarily be, but of course I would be one who got a non-shedding dog... no question about it. 

Well, I have decided that my dog is definitely not a non-shedding dog...  Don't worry, I still LOVE him, but I have stopped trying to deceive myself about this-finally after 8 months.  While, there is still a part of me that hopes that after his adult coat is fully in that the shedding will stop, I've come to terms with the hair... not happy about it, but no longer trying to convince myself otherwise!

He is adorable! His cuteness makes up for the shedding...just like my guy. JD sheds worse than any dog I've ever seen, but he is so cute and so sweet that it more than makes up for it.

Thank you!  I do think he is adorable!  He's a good pup, and I wouldn't trade him for a non-shedding dog now that I have him!

He is adorable! Gotta love that happy doodley face!  One of my F1s shed a little when he was a pup and now as an adult he sheds much less.

Thank you!  I'm hoping that as he gets older(he's 8 months now) and trades out coats his shedding will minimize some.  You give me hope! lol!

I will say that he has only been professionally groomed one time.  I brush him about 3 times per week and almost every time get like 3-4 brush fulls of hair out of him :/  However, I have yet to deal with any kind of matting at all.  I feel very blessed about this!

Having just spent the last four hours brushing, combing and de-matting two big dogs there are some times when I think to myself a little shedding wouldn't be such a bad trade for those dam knots and mats LOL Your doodle is gorgeous, good you have come to terms with the way he is.

Zack is gorgeous!  What a handsome guy!  Salvador has a little more brown on his face than your guy, but they do look a bit a like!

Sarah ~ what a happy looking boy you have there!  I have two that do not shed, and I have thought on many occasions(generally when brushing) that a little shedding would make grooming so much easier!  Be thankful!
