Not just dry skin, but many of them seem to produce oils naturally repel dirt. They get dirty all the time if you bathe them too often. I bathe her when I notice she is starting to smell. A lot of times if they are dirty the best thing is to wait until it dies and then blow it out with a forced air dryer. I do a lot of that and of course a lot of brushing and dematting too.
I cannot speak to pelicans or their poo!
Actually I should clarify, it's really not a good idea to use a human hair dryer on a dog, ever. The coils get too hot for dogs. I know you knew what I was talking about but I thought I should mention just for the record.
We don't have pelicans but we have Canadian Geese, they poop everywhere and the dogs seem to love it.
Thanks, just learned something new. I'm not much of a bird watcher. I always heard them referred to as Canadian Geese and just assumed that was correct. In any case I've seen them get pretty nasty.
Oh no. No eat! Giardia meal at its finest.
We do a good thorough grooming (including baths) every 3-4 weeks. No dry skin issues. I've tried a lot of different dog shampoos and love Kelco the best. I always come back to it after trying others (its the line my groomer uses). I use their Ultra Blue shampoo for white/cream dogs. They have a shampoo for every coat's color, texture and condition and they use all natural ingredients. In addition to the shampoo leaving my doods' coats smelling fresh (never perfumy) for a long time, another thing I like is that its concentrated, and many formulas dilute in water at a 50:1 ratio, making it an excellent value. Kelco brand (and their other brand name, Wild Animal) is from the Kim Laube company. http://laubeshop.com/kelcoshampoos.aspx.l
