Does anyone have a puppy from Shasta's litter (Soupy and Petunia April 1, 2011)? Any from Soupy born November 3, 2010?

I have a boy Soupy and Petunia puppy from the April 22, 2012 litter. I suppose Shasta would be considered Oliver's big sister!

Soupy and Petunia produce awesome puppies! Shasta has the cream head and chest like Petunia and is tall and lean at 21 pounds. I was very careful with her as a baby - carried her in a snuggly on long hikes so she could see the wilderness but not overtrain. Now she is strong and athletic - can even cross-country ski with a Puppia vest and bungee leash (what they use for ski jouring). So glad to know she has a little brother.

It's so cute to hear how similar they are! They both sound like Petunia lookalikes! Oliver also has a white patch on the top of his head and chest. He is 30 pounds but is also tall and lean, like Shasta he is a little athlete but a complete sweetheart.

By the way, Shasta is adorable!

Our Jaxson is from the Soupy/Abby litter on 7-21-2012.  Anyone else have one from this litter?

I am so happy to know where Petunia is! When I saw her for sale I wondered why she wasn't going to her guardian home, but maybe Kim raised her and had to sell her when retired. She produced such sweet babies that I hoped she would be safe and happy. She is Shasta's mother.

Hi Joyce, Shasta is adorable. She looks so much like Petunia! She looks just like what I image Petunia looked like as a puppy.
Shasta is a little bigger then Petunia at 23.5 pounds. Some of ML pups are described as "blocky" but she is tall and lean. She had a play date with her nephew Leo and i have cute pictures. Nice to stay in touch with the dog relatives. I found a picture of Soupy's father "the porter" at Hudson's labradoodles. You can see the family resemblance with all of them .

Wow! Shasta looks almost exactly like Petunia! What a beautiful little girl. Their coloring is very similar but it looks like Shasta may be a little more golden apricot in color where Petunia has a pinkish hue to her fur. You might also be surprised to learn that Petunia is not as small as her bio described her to be. She is 16.5" tall, very blocky stature and weighs in at 27 lbs. She may have weighed 22 lbs when she reached maturity when they started her on their breeding program but they never updated her weight as she got older. She is built very differently than Jaxson. He is very lean and small boned. His head, face and feet and tiny compared to Petunia. And he weighs only 17 lbs, so Petunia can really bowl him over when she's feeling rambunctious..haha.

Tell me about Leo. You said he's Shasta's nephew. How is he related? He too is such a cutie! We've never come across any other people in our area with miniature ALD's. In fact it's rare to find true ALD's no matter what size. Most people have the standard size labradoodles which makes playtime a little overwhelming for our small dogs. Shasta and Leo are lucky to have each other!! Petunia and Jaxson get along fine but their play styles are very different. That could be a result from their difference in age more than anything though.

Thank you for sharing your pictures! Shasta looks like a real sweetheart. I can see why Kim bred Petunia. She really did produce beautiful puppies!!

Leo is from Indy (Shasta's half-sister by Soupy) and Magic Man. He was the runt and is now only 13 pounds of adorable cuteness. He and Shasta play chase and share toys, but when she is in her bed and he has her toys she looks like she is over him, as in the picture. Shasta is so pretty and smart, and at 2 1/2 years old she has learned so much about how to behave in special situations ( my office, visiting people with different needs, traveling, public events such as concerts and picnics). She doesn't beg at the table so I can take her to dinners and she is perfectly behaved. I can't believe a dog can be so helpful and easy, and so affectionate! She has changed my life.

I can definitely see Leo's parents in him! I bet with his small size he's just irresistible to want to carry around all the time. What a cutie! And that look that Shasta has in the picture is dead on with the looks we see Petunia giving...it just makes me laugh! Thanks so much for sending them all. I hope to remain in touch as our dogs grow. :)
I am so glad to be in touch with Shasta's family. It was sad when i picked her up in Seattle and Erin had the whole litter in the car, each in a shipping crate and Shasta in her soft airline crate handed to me. She could hear the other puppies mewing and i imagined she looked back at them before cuddling into my arms and bonding with me. I hope she doesn't miss her Mom and siblings. Other dogs picked me through needy circumstances, so it was different to buy a dog, and one who had a job to do for me (psychological service dog). Petunia deserves the happiest life in retirement after giving such lovely pups. Glad to be in contact with my baby's family.
