Explore.org puppy cams and other wonders

I am on maternity leave until next August... and am trying to find ways to occupy myself when baby is sleeping.  I recently (re)discovered the Explore.org webcams!  They are awesome live-streaming views of really cool things.

Today's obsession is Captiva's litter of Golden retriever pups - future service dogs.  These little 6 week old tykes are getting ready for their future professions with things like spoons, telephones and dumbbells in their playpen.

Here's a snapshot I took of them this morning.  The two on the top left had synchronized breathing... adorable!

Wow, you're incredible! Most new moms sleep when the baby is sleeping, lol! 

The puppies are adorable! I am so glad that people are getting a chance to see the way real service dogs are raised and trained, pretty much from birth.

I used to... but nowadays she only cat naps for 30-45 minutes.  Hardly enough time to do anything let alone sleep myself!

She's also sleeping pretty well at night (3-4 hour stretches, only up for 15-30 minutes in between) so I'm feeling surprisingly well-rested.

Lucky you! And what a good baby!

My DD catnapped in the daytime, too. But slept through from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. from 5 weeks, so i was also well-rested.

She slept for 7 hours one night (just a one-off) and I had no idea what to do with myself... I couldn't sleep after the 4 hour mark because my brain was expecting her to be up any minute.  

I'm hoping for sleeping through the night soon, but I'll take the short feeding sessions and right back to sleep too.

She's doing pretty well!  I think she's accepted Sophie into her "pack".  Luna checks on her every time she cries and often comes over to give her some kisses on the hands or ear when she's on the bed or couch with me.

I'm addicted to explore cams.  I check on many of them as often as possible!  I love the ECAD puppies, there seems to be new great danes born every month.  I put them on as background when I'm working at my desk.
