So glad you guys are back.  Can't wait to hear all about it.  I said to Mike on day one "we need to start saving our money right now and we need to find someone to watch the girls".  We have never left them with anyone else or boarded them.  I'm not sure I could.

YES you can leave them - start searching now for someone that might come to your home or as we do - take our boys into theirs.  It is pricey but worth the peace of mind to know how well cared for and loved they are in our absence.

NEXT YEAR - for those with interest for next years trip - we are looking into an All Inclusive Resort - not a cruise.  Laurie and Ronna will do some research to find us suggestions for an affordable resort in a safe location.  After this visit - MY VOTE IS FOR GRAND CAYMAN.

Grand Cayman did look just gorgeous from the photos I saw.

sounds intriguing!  keep us posted!

There is an all inclusive resort available at my house in Hawaii! I'd love to have you come.

Bonnie, we discussed camping in your front yard LOL (we seriously did) that was after we discussed coming to Ireland....;)

I would love to visit Ireland again. Our last name is Joyce!

Shari, you are not alone!  I feel the same way about LIbby!

I know how you feel Sheri.  I have one friend who I trust to keep Finn. He loves her and he seems ok staying with her, but there are always signs of some stress. Plus I always miss him :(   But I need more than one option so the search is on.  Maybe because you have two, they will be more comfortable because they have each other.

Case in point: I have a kind and dog savvy friend in Williamsburg who offered to keep Finn so I could go to my niece's graduation in Charlottesville.  She has a gentle young golden, and FInn loves other dogs, so we thought he would do fine.  He laid by the door waiting for me ALL DAY.  She and her husband finally moved a bed to the door so he could be comfortable.  He didn't want to play with Holly.  He wouldn't eat or drink. They almost called the vet. After dinner she laid down to read a book and FInn finally got up and climbed into bed with her and laid his head on her.  She said he was the saddest sight.  I think he would have felt less abandoned if he had a brother or sister with him.

Isn't it pitiful Cheryl, Jack acts very much the same way. We have left him with my parents before, and he loves them, but he is by the door. He's better at home, but then my Mom feels she must sleep here! It's not easy! I do have my daughter at home and if she doesn't go away with us, she's been here with Jack and he is fine enough. I have yet to leave Jilly! lol

My two go to board at the woman who was an assistant to Luca's trainer. I think they are OK there, I don't want to know differently. I know they are safe and well cared for at least.

While out walking, we met a woman that lives a couple of blocks away.  She and her husband just sent their kiddies off to university and are having empty nest syndrome but are not quite ready to commit to a dog of their own.  They asked to have Gavin.  They love him like their own and are active with him.  I know there are people like that everywhere, you just have to put it out there.  Start with a day visit and progress.
