I buy poop bags and keep them in the car and in my pocket for walks.  I am certain there are many other people that do the same.

HOWEVER...not one stop on the way to get Polly or all the way back did we see evidence of anyone actively using them.  In fact the evidence we found spoke volumes about how many people really don't care about cleaning up after their pet.

Have I ever mentioned that Meg doesn't even like her own mess in her own yard, this was a real challenge for her.

LOL...I've got a box of bags in each of our cars...a box in Enzo's backpack and I always have one or two stuffed into the pockets of my jeans. We were out walking along the Coast the other day....a poop bag pole...and not 2 feet away, a guy with his little dog. Dog stops to take a poop and the guy looks in the other direction. Like if I don't see it, I don't have to clean it up! He starts to walk away and I just said" Excuse me" and walked and pulled two bags from the dispenser. Handed him both and said: " one for now and one for the next time". I almost couldn't contain myself from laughing. The look on his face was priceless. He never said a word! I stood there and watched( along with 3 other dog walking people) while he picked it up. I just walked away when he was done.
It just takes a few idiots who think they don't have to clean up after their dogs, to ruin things for the rest of us.
Ok...I'll step down off the soap box too! Cuz I know...I'm preaching to the choir here! ;)

I love your response!

Love this...kudos to you!!

GOOD for you Rosemary.  Beautiful way to handle the non poop picker upper.

I agree.  It is horrible in some places, although some other places not so much. Spud hates his own waste in the yard. If we can't find a poo, we know it is there because he runs way around the pile.  Exaggerated detour!  Like there is a snake in the yard or something. This beats the poop eaters who also want to get rid of their own stool. What a way to clean stuff up.

Okay, rant over.  HOW IS EVERYTHING?   I'm surprised you are even on here right now. You must be busy and tired

My Charlie is so offended by his poo that he won't even go in his own yard.  He holds it until I take him for a walk.  Unless he has to go in the middle of the night and he knows he won't get to go out of the yard.  Then he goes way to the far end of the yard to poo.

Everything going pretty good right now.  Just put her in the crate for the night (or until she signals time to potty).  I am sleeping near for the first few nights, out of sight but close by.  Have lots to share tomorrow after first vet visit.

Wishing you a peaceful ( and dry) first night!

Rant on--I too am astounded by the poop that others allow their pets to leave.

It is pretty upsetting to me, because those that choose not to pick up after their dogs are one of the reasons that there are so many "no dogs allowed" areas. It's not that difficult!

On a completely random note - does it strike anyone as odd that leaving dog poop around is so horrible yet horses can leave giant deposits everywhere and it's fine?

Thank Dog there are no horses in my neighborhood or the surrounding areas, lol.

I agree, the people who don't pick up after their dogs really do spoil it for the rest of us.

Oh dont get me started.  A few years ago, I did go off on a horse owner. I drove to her home, got out a garbage bag, and firmly asked her that very question.

I was furious she rides her horses in the neighborhood and then never cleans up the poo. Let me just say, I was in a menopausal RAGE.  It didn't go well for me.  They could care less. But, at least I felt better crossing her, " No Trespassing Sign" and getting out of the car with giant trash bag to tell her she has to use Poo Bags Too.
