Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Now that I have your attention, I will explain my title. As most of you have heard by now, I lost the door contest on the Doodle Cruise. Deanna and Elizabeth tied for first place and since I am a good sport, of course I wish them nothing but the worst best and hope they take their posters and stick them up their have them framed. Elizabeth had spent months bragging about her Martha Stewart skills, but I never thought the other cruisers would be so stupid swayed by a little glitter and flowers. I was wrong. I also am not accusing anyone of bribery ELIZABETH AND BAILEY, but she showed up with homemade bracelets of everyone’s dog/dogs and went on and on and on about how it was just a little something passed them out at dinner one night. Well, she might as well have handed each voter a monetary bribe and been done with it. I feel sorry for anyone so competitive that she would have to resort to bribery, but I hope she chokes on some sequins forgave her and have not moved on. Sooner or later, she will pay. Congratulations, Elizabeth aka Martha Screwyouart! Your door decoration totally sucked rocked.
Now for Deanna…Deanna used all her skills acquired as a teacher to make her poster. It was very cute, although she clearly used trickery. Her poster had Sedona doing something each day, BUT the “something” was covered up and would be revealed each day.
She knew that we would all be curious to see what was under each flap and would make the trek down to her room each day to find out what Sedona would be doing. This meant everyone looked at her poster more than anyone else’s, so naturally when it came time to vote everyone remembered the poster they had to look at the most. Since our room was far away from the other rooms, I regret not announcing at dinner each night that I had a different specialty drink or dessert to be unveiled each morning, somewhere in the vicinity of my poster. Clever move, Deanna, very clever. She lulled me into a false sense of security by not doing a door decoration last year and rarely posting on DK anymore. I forgot it is the quiet ones that we have to worry about. Watch your back, Deanna! Nice work, Deanna! Your flap idea makes me want to flip or flap something at you was creative and I will be sending you a congratulatory card be careful when you open it!
Deanna and Elizabeth, Please know I am only kidding and I would like to take a moment to say my congratulations to you by quoting a favorite saying of mine:
Je ne deviens fou, je reçois meme
I sincerely mean that and no hard feelings :) Great door decorations and it really was fun!! My mind is already going for next year's contest.
Here is the real winner my poster:
PJ and Zach of Doodle Day Comics did a tremendous job on my poster. I came up with the concept and she made it work. I love it and will find a place in my home for it. Thank you so much, PJ!!
Here is John's message to me and all the other losers...I held up another finger when I lost :)
Jane, Rooney, and Stuart. She also had lights and a musical box that played Who Let the Dogs Out!
Leslie and Halas & Judy and Barley. They had Fatheads made of their dogs. Leslie said once we saw them, we would all want one and she was right.
Doris, Knox, and Flash & Ronna, Murphy, and Wilson!! They added plenty of embellishments and did a great job.
Oh, and in case you forgot my favorite:
and what should have won it for me....meet Flat Laurie....thanks, Camilla, for helping me get this done!! She went home with Elizabeth and Bailey :)

LOL on your favorite saying and I believe you, just remember that there is a google translator - just incase you think I speak French! You door was awesome but I think you forgot to mention that you also had magnets made of your poster for everyone. Sadly - I believe you handed them out after the voting - might want to rethink that strategy for next year - as votes can be bought - lol.
As the person who runs the door decorating contest - and after seeing everyones doors and the creativity - I had to have a witness present as the votes were counted so that I could confirm the results were on the up and up. Doris volunteered but even she became nervous when we both realized that Laurie's reign as the Door Decorating Queen had come to an end. The prizes were announced at dinner (a public venue) so that Laurie couldn't go all postal the winners could celebrate with us all and get their prizes. Good job everyone and start plotting planning now for next year!
Sadly, I handed those magnets out right before the voting :) LOL Believe it or not, I can be grown up sometimes :)
LOL, I saw an earlier version of this and poof it disappeared :) Love your poster but clearly there was some stiff competition and mischief on the high seas. Flat Laurie was a hit here on land, but is John looking a bit bored in the ship side photo of her stretched out on the bed????? Hmmm. Yo me vuelvo loco. Bienvenido a casa.
The gremlins messed up my first discussion, so I quickly deleted it. LOL Thanks, DJ! What you can't see in that photo is we had lots of people in our room. John was just waiting patiently for some alone time with Flat Laurie. LOL I have to figure out the rest of your comment :) I am sure it says...you should have won!
Did you lose your glasses in the Everglades? It clearly said I should have one...
Love each and every one of the door posters, great job everyone! I must say I may have been swayed when I read Fudge's condescending remark to her silly brother about "Craps" ha ha ha.
Thank you, Lisa. We wish you had been there. I know you would have voted for me, too!!
Great job ladies! It was a long week waiting to see these, but well worth the wait. I can't even imagine how ya'll will top this next year! This would of been a tough vote!
In my opinion, Elizabeth and Deanna should have been disqualified :) LOL Thanks, Sheri!
What a great idea and all of the door posters were wonderful. Flat Laurie was the "winner" by far...LOL!!
Thanks, Adrienne!!
So fun! Glad I did not have to choose just one!
