Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
The number of members in out Photography Group. While I wasn't looking we passed the 500 mark! It keeps me so busy looking at beautiful images it is a good thing I no longer have a full time job. It is the most active group on DK, despite the fact that nobody has to take pictures of their doodles or anything else. Well, maybe they do: )We are very proud of our group.

You have photographers and admirers in that group! I know because I am one of the admirers. I love the photography group and find it so exciting to see the improvements of the people learning new skills.
ABSOLUTELY!!!
Congratulations. While the photography bug has not yet bitten me, I do admire all the great photos, and it's obvious that so many DK members enjoy and have been inspired by the Photography Group. :)
Karen, I know how much time you spend on food issues but I do think you would enjoy photography once you got going.
It's the equipment. You may remember that Jane sent me her "old" fancy camera with a million lens, etc, and that pretty much did it for me. I was beyond overwhelmed. Life is already too full of gadgets I can't figure out. I want things to be simpler, not more complex. It's the same reason I just put money into fixing my 9 year old car rather than start trying to learn how to work these new ones that don't even have keys. I bought an iPad in July and I still can't figure it out, it frustrates me daily.
I tried following the discussions for awhile, but the terminology is just Greek to me. If I could just take pictures with my point and shoot, I'd participate. :)
Karen, just take that fancy camera, set it on auto, and go! After all, the camera companies are paying dozens of experts to get those auto settings right. I do know what you mean--a dear friend has been trying to talk me into getting an iPad, but really--I'm about at max with the latest Windows, a couple of cameras and Photoshop and my dumb cell phone. It might make sense if I did a lot of traveling.
Hahahaha. That's what Jane said when she sent it to me. "It's set on "auto", all you have to do is start shooting." I tried. Nothing happened.
A short time later, Leslie was here and after some reading of manuals and puttering around, she figured out that something was not set right and by then the battery was dead. I recall that even figuring out how to charge it was not something I could have done without help.
On the next visit, Leslie took some photos of JD. We could not upload them to my computer. After more consulting of the manual and puttering around, including the installation of yet another software program (photo program? I don't know the names for all these things, even) a call was placed to CT. Still no solution. Leslie took the camera home and somehow was able to get the pictures on my computer the following week, maybe by emailing them to me, it's all a blur, as many harrowing experiences are. The camera eventually made it's way back to Jane, where I believe her granddaughter is using it. :)

Karen, I hear you :) I am drowning in a sea of technology I don't understand. Siri (my personal iPhone assistant) and I are not speaking! When I was given a wonderful camera last Christmas, I was so frustrated I was ready to throw it out the window after one week. Thank goodness for Anne (Anne and Mr. Haley) because she talked me off the ledge and got me started. But you don't need to enter into all of our craziness. There are plenty of really good point and shoot cameras out there. I find it's easier to start with something new and simple (that has all the instructions) then to start with something used that I'm not familiar with. Find a young, single IT geek and offer to feed him dinner in exchange for setting up a simple software program where you can easily download your photos LOL It would be so much fun to have you join us and see photos of JD!!
PS I think P & S cameras are easier than iPads :)
