Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Since its the month to be thankful I thought I would ask what does/do your doodle(s) bring into your life that you are thankful for? Post as often as you wish. Pictures would be cool too.
I'm thankful that our doodles are sweet friends to my kids. After years of medical treatment for both of our kids, its wonderful seeing the doods romp and snuggle with the kiddos. They seem to know what the kids need instinctively and they have gotten the kids to start moving when it was hard to get them off the couch!

I am grateful that we found our way to Meg and the first couple of people that had her did not recognize what a keeper she is. I have never been so over the top in love in my life. I am thankful that she taught me how much fun and loving a doodle can be that led us to our second one, Polly Wolly Doodle! I know when I have the opportunity to talk about them I am a bit over the top but I don't even care. I am thankful every time I walk Meg that she generates a conversation with a passer-by and I look forward to even more of that when Polly learns to walk along with us.
Oh they are sweet. Say, I am entertaining adding another doodle to our family...may I be so bold to ask what made you decide to add another? Are two more work? Polly Wolly Doodle will get how big? How about transporting 2 dogs? Travelling? Doggie day care? How old is Meg? Do the girls get along? Tell me to your hearts content..I love to learn first hand from folks that know and have experience. Thanks.
The fun we had with Meg from the very beginning had me convinced that we needed a second and I was obsessive about going out and looking at what was available but my husband was not convinced, he was afraid a second one would take away from Meg. A friend visited us with her two elderly terriers and Meg kept begging them to play, she would take a toy to them and drop it in front of them, then nudge it forward and so on. After they left hubby decided it was time to go looking. Currently it is more work because of potty training, manner training and so on, but they are smart dogs and Polly is learning quickly. So getting two water bowls ready, scooping up after two poopers is only a couple of minutes. The floors have to be swept and vacuumed no matter how many dogs are here, right? I am hoping Polly will be as big as Meg and Meg is 26 high at the shoulders and 70-75 pounds. Meg is 1 1/2 and Polly is 4 months. We are retired so we don't worry about doggy day care unless we are going out of town and I have a young man that comes to the house to care for Meg and he is looking forward to caring for Polly as well. My car has plenty of space in the back as you can see in the picture, Meg travels very well but Polly as been car sick two out of the three times she has been in it so we will try Dramamine before the next drive with her.
I don't know if we got lucky or if it is the doodle personality (this is our first time with two doodles) but they do every thing together, they chew the same antler, they chew the same peanut butter bone, they stick their head in the water bowl together, they both stick their nose in the same yogurt cup (plain greek only) at the same time. We don't let them stick their head in the same feed bowl because Polly is on different food yet. When they lay down one will always have their head over the other. Getting Polly was as much a gift to Meg as it was to us and it has only been two weeks today but right now we are very pleased and twice as in love.
So nice that these two are bonding so well! I would love a second, but we will likely wait until we are retired. we'll see! beautiful girls and great photos! thanks for sharing
What an adorable pair they make!
Meg seems to have Polly's training in hand! Adorable!
Love that shot of them in the car. Both keepers for sure Judy!
Enzo came into our lives in July, after we lost our beautiful senior Golden Retriever, Dylan. My heart was broken and I felt so empty inside. It still pains me so, to think of him....but Enzo , well.....I call her my Therapist! She puts a smile on our faces and while she will never take the place of Dylan, she is doing a wonderful job of helping to fill the void he left behind.
