Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hey everybody,
Im new to this site, I found this awsome site while researching Labradoodles, and as of 28th of September 2013 I know own a sweet and energetic f1b cream and apricot labradoodle.
I do have alot of questions though, he is quite a handful and it would be alot of help to get some answers from fellow labradoodle owners about him and this website :)
First of all is there anything I need to know about this site? (tips or warnings/ how tos)
also when does my fleece coated labradoodle need to make his first trip to the groomers?
on top of that is there anything i should do to keep him in tip top shape, such as trimming around the eyes or something??
are there any other things I need to do between 3 and 4 months?
are there any guesses as to what he might look like coat wise when he gets older?
any tips or guide lines are very much appreciated as well!
thanks

Oh yeah, you definitely need to know about this site. It is addictive. I have been coming here for many years and have raised three doodles with the help of everyone on this site. Like now! It is 2:30 in the morning and here I am checking out the messages on DK. It is a great place to hang out when the rest of the world is sleeping. So, hop on over to my photos on my page and you can get to know me and my doodles. I even developed my retirement hobby from my love of doodles, computers, and photography. Keeps my pretty busy.
About care for your young doodle - just know that these are very energetic dogs and need lots of exercise. The good news is that it gives you just the excuse you need for getting out there and getting more exercise also. My guys love walks in nature, bike rides (following my husband or on the BTL) and swimming. We just bought a new car and I took them with us for the test drive because it had to be big enough in the back for two or three large doodles. I frequently care for other doodles and they become part of the family. Let me see - grooming? My dogs have never been boarded or to a groomer because we do everything for them ourselves. My husband started grooming his standard poodle about 24 years ago and we have just continued with grooming our dogs. It builds a great bond between groomer and dog. We are retired and can take all the time we want so we usually spread a full groom out over a couple of days and each take part of the work. Things to do between 3 and 4 months? Give him lots and lots of hugs and kisses.
Oh yeah, welcome to DoodleKisses. You might take a look at the groups and join the ones that share your interests. I go immediately to my favorite groups when I log on to DK. It is just another way of sharing your favorite interests (as they relate to doodles or just your love of life). ENJOY.
