I love  my Finnley.

She has so much enthusiasm for everything fun in life.
The other day I was at my sister's house. As I was preparing to leave, I put Finnley on her leash. Well, I suppose that I was taking a bit too long with my goodbye conversation. I guess that is when Finnley took that for, if mom is still talking, then why can't Ripley and I keep playing ? It was about that time that I decided that standing on her leash, while I zipped my jacket was a good idea. Unfortunately it was also the same moment that Finnley decided to jump in back of me, to let her cousin Ripley know she was ready to play again.
RIPLEY
The leash snapped the front of my shoe up, and bent the toe area back and Voilà !!
 Broken big toe... Ouch !
Moral of the story.
#1 - Don't put big dog on leash, and then not leave right away.
#2 - Don't stand on leash for whatever reason !
 and finally
#3 - Shut my big mouth and stop talking !!

Ouch!  Hopefully it will heal fast and Finnely will have her happy healthy Mom back:)

Ouch!  So sorry about your toe!

Ouch!  That hurts!  Hope you're feeling better soon and I know from now on you will put on her leash and leave immediately!!!  LOL

Thank you for all the sympathies everyone. It hurts, but I'm limping along.
An added  pain is, it also bent the nail back, and that turned all purple. I suppose I'm going to loose it at some point.

Finnley didn't get in the least bit of trouble, and she has remained blissfully unaware of it all. I suppose that is why she has been accidentally stepping on that particular foot non-stop since it happened. Or maybe she is always stepping on my feet and I have just never noticed. Funny how searing pain gets your attention ! Hahaha

Donna, I am of Celtic origin, but my feet seem to be Roman !

They have a sixth sense of which part of the foot hurts the most. Then they step and twist on it with every pound available. And we pamper them like royalty because they also give us unconditional love.

Bonnie, you are so right !

Ouch!! So sorry Sheila. I too have experienced broken toes and it is super painful. Hope you heal quickly!

Oh no!  I hope you heal quickly!  That hurts!

Ouch!!!

Oh Sheila I am sorry to hear this. It seems like doodles are causing owner injuries lately. I stand on leashes often : (

Well F, just keep your dogs sitting and your toes clear !! :)

That is so sore, I have broken my toes twice and a finger once which was dog related as I bent down to grab a leash and hit the ground with my hand bending (snapping a finger) my hand back. Get well very soon x
