I don't mean to be the Grinch that stole Christmas but, there are some Christmas warnings I want to impart.

Tomorrow is the time when our children come running to the Christmas Tree to see what Santa has left them. Please remember that some of the gifts might be dangerous to our dogs, especially our doodles which have an affinity for eating just about anything. Keep an eye on the toys which are not designed for dogs to eat but, which they might think are yummy. Especially keep an eye on small plastic toys which might choke the dog or obstruct the intestines.

Additionally, our friends recently lost their Doberman Pinscher that ripped open a stuffed toy (which was designed for dogs and sold by a pet supply company). The stuffed toy was made in China and the stuffing was toxic to dogs.

I am also worried about a squeak toy that I recently purchased at Petco. The toy has been painted and it was made in China. This is a bad combination because of the lead based paint prevalent in Chinese products of all types.

Holly and I wish you all a Merry and Safe Christmas!

Thank you! I will pay more attention to the manufactures as well.... I usually stay away from the stuffed items because mine do tend to tear them apart. I did get them ONE mallard, but once I see one little tear...they are in the trash!! Most are KONGS and bones.

thanks again!! have a wonderful Christmas
I would really like to know what the toy was your friend with the Doberman had and who was the manufacturer and who was the distributer! That is such a sad story! I don't understand if the stuffing was toxic why this hasn't been in the news with a recall for the toy or at least a warning describing the toy and manufacturer and distributer. That should be made very public to warn other pet owners! PLEASE try to find out for us! Thanks so much!
