Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

So as many of you might already know, I am in the process of trying to convince my DH to get a baby brother for Bailey.  I have my eye on a puppy that was born on Halloween.  Today he is 2.5 weeks old.  Jim can not picture what this little guy named Pumpkin by the breeder will look like at 8 weeks old.  We got Bailey at almost 12 weeks so we didn't see her as a little one...

Please share your puppy pics at about 3 weeks and if you have at 8 weeks old that I can use as bribery info to share with him... I know that every puppy is different but this might help him be able to envision what this little guy might look like...  And yes I have shown him pics that the breeder has provided of other litters  but he still needs a slap up side the head to see more...

Lol Elizabeth!

Looking at my two playing the other day, my thought was that Jack might never have had such a close relationship and so much fun with another dog if we didn't have Jilly. If he is given the choice of greeting people or dogs, he would choose people any day. He loves people and is much more shy around dogs. When I see Jack and Jilly romping around every day and playing chase and seeing their happy faces, I am so glad that they have each other. They have added so much to each other's lives. Just a thought..

Bailey loves other dogs.  She would make the best big sister...  Her whole body wags when she sees other dogs that she can play with...

Elizabeth, maybe if he thought in terms of how it would have a positive effect on Bailey, he would reconsider.

My thoughts exactly. Lucy was the same, with being much more people oriented, but she had/has a great capacity for 'playing'. When she'd get lucky at the dog park and find a kindred spirit (usually a doodle!) she'd want to play with that dog exclusively, and would look dejected if that dog played with another dog. Getting a 2nd doodle was all about Lucy, and our primary reason for even considering it. Today the 2 are inseparable and Lucy has her forever playmate. We couldn't have dreamed it would work out as well as it did. Lucy is tireless when it comes to playing with Oscar, and although he is much more 'laid back' and mellow, he's happy to oblige Lucy with engaging in her games. BTW, Oscar is much more dog oriented, and often plays with other dogs at the dog park, leaving Lucy to her own devices (usually relegated to walking alone with us). But at home, it's all about the 2 of them.

I'm glad that Lucy has her playmate!

It's funny you say that about other Doodles, Debb.  The girls at doggie daycare always say that Libby tends to play with the other Doodles much more than the other dogs.  And there is a Doodle in my neighborhood that is always so excited to see Libby on our walks, but her mom says she is fairly indifferent to other dogs!  Libby likes 99% of all dogs, but she is so much more of a people person!

Janie -- She was in the process, but those stupid Bruins lost the Stanley Cup so I guess she had to start over!  :o)

Yes! I do remember this!

Yes, the stupid Bruin losers LOL

OMD, Jack is stunning!

Thanks Carol! I often think he and Banjo are so similar!
