Doodle neighborhood

My next door neighbor is so in love with Cody and Casey that she just got a chocolate female labradoodle. Oh my - she is SO adorable! The boys have only been able to see her through our fence right now because she is a baby (8 weeks old). Cody just sits at the fence and whines when she is close. Casey looked, turned his head to the side, looked again, then looked at me - like "ok, what is it?" He then wandered away totally uninterested. But Cody really wants to play. We can't wait for her to grow up a bit to put them together.

Since Cody and Casey are up-to-date with shots there is no reason they can not meet in person. As a matter of fact, it would be good for the puppy to be around other dogs and humans at this time to continue socialization.

This is probably the ideal situation. It is when the dog is walked on ground like dog parks or taken into pet stores where the problem lies with diseases of dogs.  Even at my vets, I carried Spud off the floor at all times. But neighbor to neighbor with healthy dogs is great

I say, convince the neighbor to have a visit

She just came home yesterday. We plan to let them get together, but I want to wait a week or so. She is so tiny and Cody is so rough. I did hold her and let them sniff her yesterday. Can't wait to see them all romping together. Our fence is wrought iron - thin bars are 2 1/2 inches apart so gives great visualization.

Nice.  Sounds like years of memories and friendships.

Plus, you want to make sure she doesnt  have something either. So many puppies do these days.

Oh how nice that Cody & Casey will have a playmate right next door...they will have so much fun together!

Since we got Charlie my two neighbors directly across the street both got doodles. They are a riot together. One is 90lbs, Charlie is 40 and the little one is 20. They play so nicely together. It's fun having doodle neighbors.
