To all you F1 English Cream Goldendoodle owners...

I'm just curious as to if your F1 English Goldendoodle sheds and how much? Thanks :)

I only have Labradoodles, but it makes no difference whether a GD is "English" or not as far as shedding guess. Each pup in a litter has the same chance of getting the shedding genes from the retriever. About 30% of GDs shed, according to one breeder's stats and old IDOG stats. It may be higher, who knows?

Adina, I'm fascinated by the 30% statistic - I would have expected higher.  Do you mind telling where the numbers come from?  I'd love to see the basis for these stats.  My 50/50 goldendoodles hardly shed but I've always wondered about a broader study.

Enzo is. F1GD...makes no difference, as Aidina stated, if they are English or not. Enzo's litter was a group of 8....a few with wavy coats, a few with curls....in speaking with the Breeder a few weeks ago, some are shedding, some are not. When dealing with breeding 2 different breeds and mixing genetics, it's a total crap shoot. There are no guarantees.

Thanks ladies. I am aware of all this I was just curious to here from actual owners of to how much if at all their F1 English Goldendoodle sheds. As you know most the info out there leads people to believe they are low to non shedding (all doodles). Just curious if I heard from 5 people say, how many out of that 5 shed and how much (little to a lot). Thanks for your info!! :)

Our yogi sheds very little... So far, but he is only 4 months now.

Trixie sheds a little bit.  But not too bad...Enough to keep her fur easier to comb out & get the mats out...So I can keep her hair long ( I comb her 3-5 times a week)  She seems to shed more 2 times a year.

She sheds less then my dds Australian Shepherd I think...Or her hair doesnt stick as much to clothes as his.

I've wondered about this, if you have a doodle that sheds a little, will that be better from the stand point of not matting as bad? Time will tell.

Sawyer only sheds when I brush him with The Furminator. Maybe once in awhile when I wear black, I see a few strands on me. He's an F1.

I now have 2 F1 goldendoodles (not english). Neither sheds much at all.
