Food Storage Container

I have just moved house and am now having to keep my dog food in a cupboard in the kitchen. Rather than have an open bag of dog food in a cupboard the dogs can potentially get into, I have been looking for a relatively dog proof storage container. I feed Acana which comes in ~13.5kg bags (roughly 30lb I think). The containers my local pet store has are either way to small or way too large (won't fit in the cupboard). Which brand and size of container do you guys use? Has anyone found one which will hold a full bag of Acana without being excessively large?? Where did you get it from? I am wiling to order online, although I am in Canada so if I can buy in Canada it would save me on shipping and import duty!!

We were just in Astoria Oregon on vacation and the Costco warehouse had one the perfect size for a 30 lb bag. I'm gonna check my Costco this weekend. They are specifically for dog food in the pet section. They also had a 40 oz bag of yummy chummies my girls love these. I'm hoping our Costco carries both.

Can you get gladware Tupperware? I use the deep rectangle containers. I order the 15 lb bag of Orijen and I think it takes 6-8 containers to empty the bag. Your dog shouldn't be able to get into these, especially inside a cabinet. They're cheap and efficient.

i have a great one that has wheels and fits the 30 lb. bag of Acana for sure..that's what was in it till i switched her food recently.  it has a flip top that is securely fastened to the larger container.  i bought it at The Container Store..they are online

Thanks guys for your suggestions! I like the look of the Vittles Vault as it looks pretty dog proof! Each website I have looked at gives slightly different measurements for them, so I'm not sure which size would fit in my cupboard. So, I think I might have to wait until I can get to a store and actually measure the containers!

I got a plastic container for dog food at the Pet Valu near me. ( I am in Canada, NS). You should also check out RensPets.com they are a Canadian company. Often free shipping.

Our Costco had the 60 lb vittles vault for only $26.97! Sadly I forgot my small measuring tape.

I bought a Vittles Vault at the weekend, got the one that holds 35lb and it is perfect! Fits exactly I to the cupboard I have been using!!
