I love my Murphy Doodle long and shaggy but I am thinking of cutting it all off or at least down to about an inch. If I do this how long will it take for his hair to grow back to the 4 inches that it is now? He is 15 month old and has never had a hair cut before.
Do you think if I cut it this week it would be long again by summer? Have you ever cut Roscoe to about an inch and how long did it take to grow back? Thanks for your help.
is Murphy a F1B? Dexter is and his hair grows SO fast!! We cut him down to less than 1/2 an inch a month ago and it's over an inch long already. I bet within about 3-4 months it would be back to your current length.
I was hesitant to cut Dex's hair at first and now I love his short look as much as the long shaggy look. Murphy is adorable by the way.
I keep Giada's hair short, because I do not like to take care of long hair. She is an F1b, but her hair grows very slow. If you don't mind taking care of it, I wouldn't cut it.
Halas had a couple of spots shaved because of mats in early July. It wasn't shaved down to the skin, but it was probably less than 1 inch long. Those spots are still probably barely over 1 inch long now, nearly 6 months later. So it is taking those spots forever to grow back. Once in awhile, I'll have the groomer cut a little bit off the top of his head, so that it doesn't fall into his eyes. Now, that hair seems to grow back quickly, so I don't know what the difference is.
Noooooooo.....we just received your Xmas card yesterday and what a beautiful coat on Murphy.......and now you are thinking about cutting it.....I don't know anything about coat growth....but I don't think Murphy would be to pleased to see his beautiful coat on the groomer's floor......Just how does he feel about spending the winter in a wool sweater?......better get his opinion......
Oh Penny, you haven't read my post about the orange hair dye. That' why I was thinking of cutting it. But, he has such a beautiful coat and I have been keeping up with the grooming. I did get some great ideas and maybe I found a product that will take out the orange. I'm going to try.
I am so glad that you received my Christmas card before New Year's !!*laugh*!!
Meg.....Metalex.....It's what hairdressers use to remove dark hair dye...also Prell Shampoo...Strips the color right out....Just make sure that you condition after using it on your doodle....You wouldn't want any potential skin irritation....
THANKS, My DH just went to the store so I will call and have him get some Prell. I have never heard of Metalex. Can you get that in a grocery store or is that just sold to hair salons?
