So the breeder messaged me this morning and let me know which pup of the litter was ours.

IT WAS AWESOME NEWS - BECAUSE THIS WAS OUR FIRST CHOICE!!!!!

(MALE #3)

So I've been on a shopping spree getting the things we need for his arrival in 4 weeks.

I have a question about chew toys tho.....would love to hear your thoughts.

I already bought a puppy kong to stuff w PB - and a couple of plush squeaky toys.

The hide-a-squirell - a cuddle puppy - and a bob a lot lololol.

But I'm wondering about chew toys like NYLABONES, or ANTLERZ, or BULLY STICKS?

Should I get something like that for our little pup too?

He will be 12 weeks old when he comes home.

Such an adorable puppy. Enjoy every minute, it goes really fast!
Yogi has liked the nylabones, split antlers, and zukes treats.
He just turned 20 weeks and got his first rawhide bone. He LOVES them!

Yep, that is a cutie!

#3 looks so sweet - I can see why you are so excited!  I used bully sticks when my boys were puppies and even now. However, I think they need supervision.  Do not let them get too short as Lori said.  I also buy from BestBullySticks.com.  Neither of my doodles are heavy chewers, so I have no issues with teeth breaking, etc.  I have never used nylabones and absolutely no greenies!  Have you picked out a name yet??

Since we can't link to breeders in the forum, perhaps you can copy the URL of the photo and insert it into your discussion.  Just click "Edit" discussion at the top.  I removed the link already.

Ragley does not like nylabones either. She does love both antlers and bully sticks though. I'd have to say her favorite toys are her skineeez animals and her kong cozie, marvin the moose. Marvin goes EVERYWHERE with us- she chews him, retrieves him, and snuggles with him. And what is best is that after 9 weeks of that, he looks like new! Best $5 I have spent on her lol.

Beautiful pup!

I recommend putting Himalayan Yak-Milk Chews on your list of possible chew options. When they get too small, you can microwave them and they turn into another type of product entirely, and one that isn't dangerous to swallow. My guys like them, and they also like Bravo-brand bully sticks. I order the 12-inch size and toss them away when they get too small. Bravo bully sticks do not smell and are sourced in the United States. A pet-supply store owner once warned me against purchasing the rigid Nylabones, as she knows of too many dogs whose teeth were broken as a result of gnawing on them. The softer rubberier puppy ones seem okay. Congratulations on becoming puppy parents -- how very wonderful!
